Video Tutorial – Peace on Earth

Happy Tuesday everyone,

Today I have a video to share with you for AnnaBelle Stamps. I am really liking one layered cards at the moment and so decided to create one using a couple of different techniques – masking and blending with Distress Inks. I also love silhouette stamping over the top of inked backgrounds. I think it makes for a dramatic card with not too much effort.

To view the video, head over to the AnnaBelles’s Stamp, Embellish, Create site and click on the link (you don’t need to be a member to view the video – but we would love you to join our little community if you like – its free!)

Say it with…Paper Piecing

Friday has rolled around again, so that means another challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps. This week is a fun one…who doesn’t love a paper piecing challenge?

(Tag aco76)

Today the Belles are giving you a peek at some new AnnaBelle stamps that are being officially released into the store this afternoon at 4pm (AEST). Be sure to head to the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog at 4pm for the full release AND for a give away!! In the meantime you’ll just have to check out the Belle’s creations for some hints.

I have created a little scene today, masking off everything outside the circle using Mask It.

The kite is covered in Glossy Accents to give it a little shine…but it doesn’t show in the photo very well. I added some simple Copic shading to the trees and grass. I probably should have added some to the kite, but only thought of that now!

For this one I put the sentiment inside the card…something I never seem to do. Don’t know why really!

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Tomorrow’s Dream stamp set

Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black, Distress Inks – Broken China, Faded Jeans, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Versacolor – Green Tea, Memento ink – Danube Blue

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps pre-cut smooth white cards – square

Other Supplies: Blending tool, Mask It, Copic Markers, Spellbinders circle die – Standard circles small, Cuttlebug, foam dimensionals, My Mind’s Eye paper – Lost and Found (Kite), Kaisercraft paper (trees), Brand unknown patterned paper (clouds), Glossy Accents, Mask It

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the rest of the DT projects. Their links are on my sidebar. And don’t forget to head to the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog at 4pm for the full release and a giveaway!

Say it with…Plum, Blue and Raspberry

Hello there crafty friends,

I am so glad that it is Friday! Not only because it is time for another challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps, but because I can say that I have FINALLY finished writing my school reports! Yay!

Anyway, onto this week’s challenge…a colour challenge.

(Tag aco75)

I used a circle punch to create a mask for the moon and then I got distressing with a variety of distress ink colours. I used the All Things Grow stamp set for the grass. To give the moon some dimension I used two subtle grey shades of Copic markers. I couldn’t think what to do with the sentiment, so I took my hubby’s advice and didn’t put one on.

And did you get a chance to see Venus travel between Earth and the sun this week? I wanted to show you a very cool photo that my brother-in-law Kirk took. (Maybe this is where some of my inspiration for my card came from!)

How awesome is that? I can’t believe how BIG the sun is. Thanks Kirk for letting me share your photo. You can check out his blog here.

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps All Things Grow stamp set

Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black, Distress Inks – Broken China, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick

Other Supplies: Blending tool, Mask It, Carl Craft circle punch, Copic Markers

Clean and Simple

Hi everyone,
Just popping in quickly with some cards that I made today following one of the sketches from the Clean and Simple Card Making class run by Jennifer McGuire, Kristina Werner and Julie Ebersole. My heart skipped a beat when I saw this sketch.

I love clean and simple cards and I love how both of these turned out. To create the red background I swished some Fired Brick distress ink over some textured card stock, leaving some white gaps. I like the distressed look. I am entering this card into the current CAS-ual Fridays CFC#34 Challenge – Chip off the Ol’ Block. I have used Thickers chipboard glossy letters.

My second card I am entering into the current Wee Memories Challenge #82 – Mini. My card is a small 4×4 card. Simple, but cute don’t you think?

Summer Card Camp: Week 2

Hi,

We are back from our little holiday away…we had beautiful weather and it was lovely to spend some time away with my family.

Tonight I am sharing with you my take on this week’s colour combo for the Online Summer Card Camp 2011.

I found this week’s colour challenge a little easier than last week. I hadn’t envisioned my card to turn out so green, but I like it – and it doesn’t have a sentiment which is hard for me to do! These colours scream summer to me…not exactly the weather we are experiencing at the moment, but it is nice to imagine that it is summer and not freezing cold winter!!

I stamped the butterflies in Versafine black ink and then clear embossed quickly over the top before it dried. I have never tried this before (I usually use watermark ink then emboss with black powder) but I really like the shine that it gives! The butterflies were coloured with distress inks using my finger sponge daubers. The frame around the nestie was embossed through my cuttlebug and then I used a copic marker to create the green border.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings cling stamp set (CL383), Hero Arts Flowing Flowers and Leaves cling stamp (CG146), Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Woodblock stamp (S5507)
Ink: Versafine – Onyx black, Tim Holtz Distress inks – Barn Door, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, VersaCubes – Bamboo
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold),  X-Press It blending card
Other Supplies: Zing clear embossing powder, heat gun, foam dimensionals, sponge daubers, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Spellbinders nesties – label 4, Cuttlebug, white ribbon, Copic marker – green

Thanks for looking,

Marion
