Blow Me Down – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Today I’m popping in with a card that was on the Jane’s Doodles blog earlier this week. It uses the Ahoy stamp set. I did some masking and ink blending to create the sand and water. The images were coloured with Copic markers, then I fussy cut round them before adhering some of them with foam dimensionals.

Hello with Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello. Today I have a Jane’s Doodles card to share with you that went up on the Jane’s Doodles blog last week. I felt like getting all inky and artsy and so after playing around with some distress inks, this card happened. I’m not usually a fan of purple, but it just felt like the right flower colour for the background.

The background was water coloured with Distress inks – Mustard seed, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. I then took a Penny Black stencil and dabbed up some of the colour with a baby wipe to create the subtle spots.

The flower, from the Anemone stamp set, was coloured with Copic markers and I clustered some black seed beads in the centre and adhered them with Glossy Accents. I finished the card of with some black ink splatters.

Jane’s Doodles Release Blog Hop

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! Today is the release blog hop for Jane’s Doodles Stamps. You should have arrived from Zrinka’s blog.

Today, two new sets are being released into the store and they are Rain or Shine and Ahoy! Once again, Jane has done an amazing job at designing these sets. I find her stamps so easy to create cute little scenes with them.

Rain or Shine

Ahoy!

Jane's Doodles Ahoy!

First up I’ve created a one layer card using the Rain or Shine set.

I added two layers of Glossy Accents to the umbrella for lots of dimension. Unfortunately the white dots I drew on the umbrella got a little lost underneath all of that shine.

Next up is a card using the Ahoy! stamp set. I had a lot of fun colouring these images (with Copics) and creating this scene. It’s going to be a birthday card for my daughter who turns 6 in December. She is very much a tom boy and loves all things pirates, so this card is perfect for her. It hasn’t really shown up in the photo very well, but there is a very lightly sponged blue sky with clouds. If you squint you may see some of it – it is much better in real life.

A couple of Jane’s Doodles cards

Jane's Doodle Banner

I have a couple of Jane’s Doodles cards that I haven’t shared here on my blog yet. My life has been SUPER crazy busy the past month – but hopefully things can start to get back to normal soon (but who am I kidding – both my kids have their birthdays in December, school finishes soon so I’m finalising school reports, end of year activities, Christmas is looming….you get the idea. Bring on January I say :))

First up, I have a one layer card using the Winter Wishes stamp set – which is one of my favourite Jane’s Doodles set. I now know why I don’t make one layer cards very often as I’m not a fan of masking. I like the idea, but the actual practise of it is another thing. But it was fun to give it another go. Laura Bassen I take my hat off to you. You are the one layer queen in my eyes!

JD Season's Greeting | Marion Vagg

Next up is a a sentiment-less card using the Doodle Flower and Doodle Flower II stamp sets. This card was really quick to make and could be used for a variety of occasions. I could even add a sentiment really easily if I wanted too. I stamped the images in various colours of inks and then coloured some of the images in with a matching Copic marker colour.

Just a note – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello. Today I have two cards up on the Jane’s Doodles blog using three of her stamp sets – Doodle Flowers, Doodle Flowers II and Stripes and Dots. I created the backgrounds on both of these cards using the stripe stamps from the Stripes and Dots set and three shades of dye ink. I overlapped the stamping and double stamped some of the stripes to create the background. I love how the inks blended together and it looks as though I have used more than 3 colours on each card.

JD Just a note | Marion Vagg

Once the backgrounds had dried completely, I stamped various floral images from the Doodle flowers sets with VersaFine Onyx black ink, then added in some white gel pen detailing. I think I like the blue/green one. Which one do you like best?
