Teacher Thank You – Sunny Studio

If you are looking for the Jane’s Doodles Blog Hop, go here.

Today I’m popping in with a card and tag that is up on the Sunny Studios Blog using the School Time stamp set. Being a teacher myself I know that little cards and gifts are very much appreciated, as it is certainly not just a 9-3 job.

I found these little treat tubes at my local discount store and they were perfect to put large Jaffas in (orange flavoured chocolate if you hadn’t heard of these before – one of my favs). I love the shiny apples – some Wink of Stella brush glitter pen and a coat of Glossy Accents.

Butterfly thank you

simplicity sister

Hello! I had a lot of fun making this card. I wanted something colourful and ombre – hence this card was born! It uses this small Penny Black butterfly die that I had to run through my die cutting machine 18 times. But I had an idea and I had to go with it!

I coloured each butterfly with 3 colours of Copic marker – it wasn’t hard at all. After I had die cut 3 butterflies, I put them back into the negative space and coloured them quickly. To help me line them up, I drew a grid on the white panel, then erased it once they were adhered.

Penny Black and July PageMaps

simplicity sister

This month I had the privilege of using some Penny Black products and created a card for the PageMaps July card sketch.

july15_7x5d_sm

In order to follow the sketch, but avoid an overly busy card, I created a lot of subtle textures using some Penny Black stencils. Both the pattern on the butterfly and the chevrons in the background were created by running the stencil through my Cuttlebug with a rubber embossing mat. The blue dots were created with a stencil and coloured embossing paste.

I’m dropping in quickly with a couple of cards that went up on the Jane’s Doodles blog this week. CAS and very simple to make. The flowers and leaves are from the Smile stamp set. The sentiment is from an old Jane’s Doodle set, which I believe has been discontinued.

Tag – You’re It!

You may have heard of a new challenge that has popped up in blogland – the Tag You’re It! Challenge. Well today I am excited to announce that I have been asked to be on the Design Team for it. If you know me and follow my blog, you will know that I do love making tags! To meet the other talented Design Team members, head over to the Tag You’re It! Challenge Blog.

TYIC_Designer_Badge

So, if you LOVE creating Clean and Simple tags or cards, this challenge is for YOU! Every two weeks we’ll feature a designer’s project for inspiration. You’ll link up your creation, then come back to see if IT was TAGGED as the winner! Our focus will be tags, but a card or a scrapbook layout with a tag, even if it’s teeny tiny, is acceptable. Even bookmarks can take the form of a tag. Just have fun and be creative with TAGS!

To get the ball rolling at Tag You’re It! Challenge, we are having a 5 day mini challenge to get you warmed up. This week we have a guest designer, Karin Åkesdotter who has created this cute summer scene tag!

TYIC_GD_Mini_Challenge

For my tag, I used the same layout as Karin and created this using Lawn Fawn’s Blue Skies stamp set.
