Beep Beep… little car cards

Hello again,

I find making cards for little boys quite hard. But recently I bought a really cheap and cute little car stamp and so I have been doing some playing around with it and this is what I have come up with.

This is actually my second project using copic markers. I have a really limited number of about 10….and I am in no way an expert at shading, but I have had fun experimenting.

To make the cloudy sky I made my own template of a cloud and then used my sponge daubers to sponge the sky on and when the clouds were removed, it revealed the white cardstock underneath. I also used Glossy Accents on the car windows to give them some dimension. I had a go at making my own Happy Birthday embellishment and I had the blue star button in my stash of buttons and it fitted in perfectly.

Supplies: Regal Craft White Card, Kaisercraft car stamp, Versa Color ink (black, blue, brown), sponge daubers, copic markers, Kaisercraft patterned paper, round cardboard tag, Hero Arts alphabet stamps, blue star button, twine, 3D foam dots, Glossy Accents, green and white cardstock, black marker pen.

With this card, I don’t have a sun stamp šŸ™ ….so I made my own sun with some of my punches and then added glossy accents to make it shine. Not the best result, but it is passable. The background was stamped with a Kaisercraft background stamp with clear Versamark ink.

Supplies: Regal Craft White Card, Kaisercraft background stamp, Versamark clear ink, Versa Color black ink, copic markers, Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder, 3D foam dots, Glossy Accents, Bazzill card stock (turquoise colours), black and white card stock, Pebbles IncĀ  Happy Birthday rub on, Carl Craft punches (circle and star).

I am also working on my entry to the Scrapbook Boutique card making challenge…check out the competition here – entries close this Saturday the 21st of August 2010.

Until next time…

A gift set for my Mum

Hi,

It was my Mum’s birthday a couple of weeks ago and even though I am late in sending her birthday present to her, I am sure she will be happy with the results… I know I am. I love making sets of cards and putting them together in a cute box and wrapping with some nice ribbon….

The design for these cards was adapted from a set made by the super talented Jennifer McGuire. I didn’t have a leaf punch or stamp so I made my own by hand….(I have since purchased a leaf stamp!!). I put 8 cards with envelopes into the set – they are a mix of Happy Birthday, Congratulations and Thank you cards.

I inked up some white cardstock with my Versa Color inks (using pinks, blues and purples) and used my sponge daubers to get the two tone colour effect in the flower centre. I them stamped the flower image in black over the top and cut them out. I also loved the box that I found in a cheap discount shop downtown…I think it works beautifully and makes the set look complete. Overall I am really happy with the results.

Supplies: White Regal Craft Card, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Versa Color dye inks, Sponge daubers, Bazzill Cardstock, Kaisercraft and Wendy Irving rubons, 3D foam dots, Kaisercraft pearl embellishments.

Anyway, I bought a new stamp today, a little car stamp, so I am off to play with it and experiment with making some little boy cards…my 3 and a 1/2 year old son thought it was pretty good when I showed him!

Until next time…

Hi…. punch art cards to start the ball rolling!

Welcome to my blog! This blog thing is all a bit overwhelming and new to me, but thanks to my hubby (who is the technological one in the family) I have my blog up and running.

I love subscribing to other people’s crafty blogs as I get a lot of inspiration for my cards (and other crafty projects) from them and I have learnt many new techniques as well. There are so many talented people in this world and it is great that I can so easily access these wonderful ideas. Maybe someone out there will be able to get some inspiration from me.

Well to kick off my blog I’ll share three of my recent and simple card creations….flowers in autumn colours.

Supplies: Bazzill card stock, Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Carl Craft Punches, Kaisercraft pearl embellishments, ribbon, Wendy Irving rubons, thick cardboard tags, White Regal Craft Card, 3D foam dots.
