Hello! I haven’t posted in over 3 weeks – but I needed a blogging break and so took one. But I am back now and have a cute card to share using some Penny Black products. This little fox is coloured with Copic Markers.

Hope you have been busy crafting in my absence! I have crafted a little bit, but not much. We did however have 400mm of rainfall in 36 hours last week which caused some significant flooding here on the South Coast but we were fine. So the Online Card Class Background Check is almost over and I have finally managed to make a card for it! I have enjoyed all the videos and techniques used, but I have a house full of sick kids and hubby is away on business, so I’m pretty proud of getting one made!

This card uses the inking blend technique that Laura Bassen showed on Day 1. I masked off the horizon with some Post-It tape and blended in some Salty Ocean Distress ink for the sky and Mowed Lawn for the grass. To add some interest, I sponged in some clouds (I created a stencil from card stock using a cloud die from Poppy Stamps). The bears are a Hero Arts stamp, coloured with Copics.

This month I had the privilege of using some Penny Black products and created a card for the PageMaps July card sketch.

In order to follow the sketch, but avoid an overly busy card, I created a lot of subtle textures using some Penny Black stencils. Both the pattern on the butterfly and the chevrons in the background were created by running the stencil through my Cuttlebug with a rubber embossing mat. The blue dots were created with a stencil and coloured embossing paste.

Today I’m sharing a card using some Jane’s Doodles stamps. I kept things pretty simple with this one. The flowers are coloured with Copics and then I added some Wink of Stella glitter brush pen for some shimmer. To ground the flowers, I added a couple of strips of patterned paper. For something different, I used some leather grain card stock for the card base.

I recently made this underwater shaker card for the Jane’s Doodle blog using the new Under the Sea stamp set. Lots of fun to make.

Some of the underwater elements are adhered on top of the acetate and some are underneath the acetate, so that the sequins can move around in between.

Well the school holidays are nearly over for me and it’s back to work on Monday. It’s so wet, cold and dreary here – perfect indoor weather for card making!
