Love You and Hello – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

With Mother’s Day just around the corner, I thought I would get in nice and early with making a card for my Mum. You can find it on the Jane’s Doodle blog.

I stamped the image from the Mom stamp set and coloured it with Copic markers. I white heat embossed the sentiment (from the same set) onto some black card stock. It’s a rather small 10cm square card (4 inches square).

For the background, I used my scoreboard and scoring stylus to create a subtle border. I think it frames the vase well, adding a textural feature.

And before I go, I forgot to share another card that was on the Jane’s Doodle blog several weeks ago. It used the Daisies stamp set. I masked then stamped the images onto watercolour card stock and coloured them Gansai Tambi watercolour paints. I added some brown Distress ink to the edges before removing the border masks.

Build a House – Penny Black

I’m back with another card using Penny Black products from their recent Bliss release. This time I had fun playing with a Creative die called Build a House. So many fun combinations can be made with this die. I opted for a really clean and simple card.

I coloured the house parts with a mixture of Copics and Distress inks. Once assembled, I coated the roof and front door with some clear Wink of Stella for some shine. It’s a bit hard to tell, but I put some Glossy Accents into the windows to give them a more realistic look.

The sentiment is one that I created from two sentiments from the All Things Great stamp set. I did a little bit of stamp surgery, and that allows me to get more mileage from my stamp sets.

Gladsome Flowers – Penny Black

Hi friends! Over the next couple of days I have some cards to share with you made with Penny Black products from their recent Bliss release.

Today I have three cards I have made with the Gladsome stamp. This is a beautiful floral image that can be coloured with a variety of different media.

First up I have coloured these flowers with Copic markers and then cut out around the floral images and popped them up on some foam tape. The background is a wash of Salty Ocean Distress ink and some paint splattering. The sentiment is from the All Great Things Stamp set.

The next two cards are very similar, I just coloured the floral images this time with Gansai Tambi watercolour paints. Once they was dry, I added a little bit more contrast to the images with some Prismacolor pencils. I just love the texture of the watercolour paper.
