AnnaBelle Sketch Challenge #52

It is the last Friday of the month, so that means a sketch challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps.

Hope you can play along with us, as the winner will receive the Christmas Scene Bauble stamp set. This is the stamp set I have used today as well as the Holly Branch Stamp set for the sentiment.

I kept things pretty simple with heat embossing onto kraft. I did a little bit if masking and to add some colour I used some 3mm Chilli sprinkles. I used a neutral Gray Copic marker to go around the outside of the baubles for some subtle definition.

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Christmas Scene Bauble stamp set, AnnaBelle Stampa Holly Branch Stamp set (sentiment)

Ink: Versamark watermark ink

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps kraft cardstock

Other Supplies: Mask It film, AnnaBelle Stamps Opaque white embossing powder, heat tool, anti-static pillow, Tombow adhesive, AnnaBelle Stamps 3mm sprinkles – Chilli, Signo uniball gel pen – white, Copic marker – NO, WRMK Corner Chomper

Until next time,

AnnaBelle Sketch Challenge (ABSC047)

Happy Friday to you all,

The challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps this week is a sketch challenge. Why not take the plunge and come and join us?

I decided to flip the sketch on its side and came up with this. In place of a sentiment, I added a butterfly – so I can use this for any occasion. The technique I used is called trapped embossed resist. I stamped and clear heat embossed Fanciful Flowers onto some patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye. (Yes you read that right, I used some patterned paper!) I then went over the stamped images with distress inks – the clear embossed flowers resisted the ink, trapping the patterned paper behind the clear embossing. It was fun to get all “technique-y!” I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Presents a Patterned Paper Challenge over at Lilypad cards.

And while I was at it, I decided to make a blue one as well. The patterned paper didn’t show through as well, but it is there – if you squint!!

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Fanciful Flowers stamp set
Ink: Versamark watermark ink, Distress inks – Victorian Velvet, Tattered Rose, Frayed Burlap, Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood
Card: AnnaBelle Stamps smooth white card
Other Supplies: AnnaBelle Stamps Natural jute twine, American Craft clear embossing powder, heat gun, My Mind’s Eye – Lost and Found patterned paper, lace, Glossy Accents (to adhere twine and butterflies), Martha Stewart Butterfly punches, vellum, AnnaBelle Stamps pearls, Ranger Wondertape (1/2″), Ink blending tool,

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the DT have created. The Belles’ links are on my side bar.

Thanks for visiting.

…and a partridge in a pear tree

Hello and welcome to the first blog hop for December at AnnaBelle Stamps. If you have arrived from Patti’s blog than you are on the right track. If you want to start the hop from the beginning, head on over to the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog.

Today the Belles are making projects with the theme of Christmas Gift Tags. I made a partridge in a pear tree…very Christmas-y!

I am entering these tags into 2 challenges. The current Wee Memories #78 challenge and Jay Gee’s Nook Challenge #14 which was to use this inspiration photo. I went with the Christmas theme and the photo with the little birdie in it!

I bought these gorgeous laser cut birds earlier on in the year and they were just right for this project. I inked them up with distress ink before spritzing them with pearlised water. I paired the birds up with the tree from the Tree-MEN-dous stamp set. The sentiment is from the Stamped For Christmas set and I added some grass from the All Things Grow set.Β  Ooh and I just had to try out my new distress inks …Wild Honey and Faded Jeans are my *new* favourite colours.

It doesn’t really show it in the photos, but the tags are covered in pearlised water so they are nice and shiny in real life.

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Tree-MEN-dous stamp set, AnnaBelle Stamps Stamped For Christmas set, AnnaBelle Stamps All Things Grow set.
Ink: Distress Inks – Wild Honey, Fired Brick, Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Walnut Stain
Card: AnnaBelle stamps smooth white card
Other Supplies: RW Laser Cuts – Patchwork of birds, Perfect pearls, mini mister, Fiskars stamp press, White satin ribbon, Glossy Accents (to adhere birds)Β  AnnaBelle Stamps natural jute twine

Thanks for stopping by…and now you are hopping over to the AnnaBelle Blog. Make sure you visit all the DT and leave them some love.

Christmas in July

Hi there,

It is such a cold and wet winter’s day here…longing for some sunshine! So with that in mind, I have created a Christmas card!

I love to use stamp sets in a way that they are not intended for, and this is just one example. I have used the HA Playful animals set to create this card and the sentiment is from the Teeny Trees Waltzing Mouse set.

Here is the stamp set I used…see the tiny little branch of leaves and the little star…that is what I used!

I drew a circle with pencil first and then I just stamped the little branch around the circle in 2 different shades of green. Added the stars in red, a bow and some pearls and I was done!

I am entering this into the current Scrapbook Boutique Challenge where the theme is Christmas.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Playful Animals stamp set (CL155), Waltzing Mouse ‘Teeny Trees’ stamp set
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Versacolor cubes – Bamboo, Green Tea, Distress Ink – Barn Door
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured square – cut to size), X-Press It blending card, Regal Craft Card – Eucalyptus
Other Supplies: Spellbinder’s Nesties – Labels 2, Cuttlebug, foam dimensionals, Glossy Accents (to adhere bow), thin red ribbon, red saddle stitch ribbon, Martha Steward score board, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, pewter, cream

Thanks for looking,

Marion

Merry Christmas…in April?

…well why not I say!

I bought the Hero Arts “Magic of Christmas” stamp set last year, but it didn’t arrive until after Christmas and I haven’t had a chance to use it much….so I am getting in nice and early for this year! My inspiration for this card came from the very talented Joy Taylor and this was her card. I loved her layout!

I am entering this card into the new Challenge Blog, Lily Pad Cards, where Kathy Racoosin has laid down the following colour challenge.

Quite challenging considering the amount of colours! But alas, here is my Christmas creation.

And here is a close up of the stamp layering…I used a small width foam as I like the subtlety of this. You can’t see it in the photo, but I used perfect pearls on the card. I swiped the distress inks on my acrylic block and then spritzed with perfect pearls water before painting it on the bauble and the leaves with a paint brush. It is nice and shimmery in real life!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts ‘Magic of Christmas’ (CL462), Hero Arts ‘Holiday Messages’ (CL244)
Ink: VersaMark Watermark Ink, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress ink – Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Bundled Sage
Card: Regal Craft Card (textured white single fold), white card
Other Supplies: American Crafts black embossing powder, white ribbon – thin width, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, foam dimensionals, Gloss Accents, Perfect pearls, paint brush, mini mister, acrylic block, blending tool

Thanks for looking! (oh and Merry Christmas!)
