Snow Much Fun – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I’m back with another card for Jane’s Doodles and I just had to create a card using the adorable mice from the Winter Wishes stamp set. At the moment the stamp set has sold out, but you can pre-order it as they will be arriving in the store next week.

I created my own mask and used distress inks to make some snow banks. The mice and the tree are coloured with Copic Markers.

It is hard to tell, but I spritzed the blue background with some Perfect Pearls and it has a lovely shimmer to it. These mice look like they are singing Christmas (or is that Christmouse?) carols. Such cute little critters!

Monochromatic hello

Hi everyone,

I really should be in bed…but just wanted to post this before I head there! This card looks simple (and it is) but I lost track of how many hours I fiddled with it to get it to this stage…ho hum!
I am using my new Hero Arts Classic Fabric Design stamp that I stamped with Broken China distress ink (my FAVOURITE distress ink colour). I spritzed with Perfect Pearls before stamping, so in real life it has a shimmer to it which is lovely. I am entering this into Lucy’s Lovely Lines sketch challenge over at Lily Pad Cards which is sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Classic Fabric Design (CG245)
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Broken China
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), White card
Other Supplies: Perfect Pearls, Mini mister, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft Flowers, Kaisercraft Pearls – snow, Making Memories metal word fetti – ‘hello’ tag, White ribbon, Kaisercraft teal grosgrain ribbon, white button, Smiggles mini stapler, Zots Adhesive dots

Thanks for looking,

Marion

Merry Christmas…in April?

…well why not I say!

I bought the Hero Arts “Magic of Christmas” stamp set last year, but it didn’t arrive until after Christmas and I haven’t had a chance to use it much….so I am getting in nice and early for this year! My inspiration for this card came from the very talented Joy Taylor and this was her card. I loved her layout!

I am entering this card into the new Challenge Blog, Lily Pad Cards, where Kathy Racoosin has laid down the following colour challenge.

Quite challenging considering the amount of colours! But alas, here is my Christmas creation.

And here is a close up of the stamp layering…I used a small width foam as I like the subtlety of this. You can’t see it in the photo, but I used perfect pearls on the card. I swiped the distress inks on my acrylic block and then spritzed with perfect pearls water before painting it on the bauble and the leaves with a paint brush. It is nice and shimmery in real life!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts ‘Magic of Christmas’ (CL462), Hero Arts ‘Holiday Messages’ (CL244)
Ink: VersaMark Watermark Ink, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress ink – Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Bundled Sage
Card: Regal Craft Card (textured white single fold), white card
Other Supplies: American Crafts black embossing powder, white ribbon – thin width, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, foam dimensionals, Gloss Accents, Perfect pearls, paint brush, mini mister, acrylic block, blending tool

Thanks for looking! (oh and Merry Christmas!)

Christmas Baubles

Hey crafty peoples,

It has been too long since posts, but I have been having MAJOR issues with trying to get some decent photos, it has been so frustrating!! Anyway, this is the best I could come up with…I really need to purchase some more photography gear!

Once again I have been inking up my Hero Arts Decorative Ornaments stamp and I am loving it!! These cards are pretty simple and there is a reason for this as these are going to be my Christmas cards this year and mass production needs to be done quickly and efficiently!

I inked up the stamp with several different inks (similar tones) and then gave the stamp a good spritz with perfect pearls in water  before stamping. Once stamped, I hit it with the heat gun to dry it quickly. I love how it has given the image a watery look. In real life the perfect pearls are really shimmery, but hard to capture this in the photos. The background stamp is an Impress stamp that I inked up with 3 different shades of green, spritzed with perfect pearls in water and then dabbed with a tissue before stamping to get a blotchy effect. I added a sentiment, some ribbon and pearls and voila!

This photo captures some of the perfect pearls a bit, but it looks better in real life.

And I experimented with different colours, but I think the pink colours are my favourite. I also did a blue one.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Decorative Ornament, Impress Stamp – square, Kaisercraft Christmas sentiment
Ink: Versacolor Ink – Onyx Black, Cardinal, Petal Pink, Opera Pink, Peony, Heliotrope, hyacinth, Green Tea, bamboo, Olive, Orange, Yellow
Card:
Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), white card
Other Supplies:
Thin white ribbon, thin white and gold ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, foam dimensionals, perfect pearls, mini mister, heat gun, glossy accents (to adhere ribbon)

Thanks again for visiting and have a great night!
