Farewell to the Tag You’re It Challenge

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the Tag You’re It challenge that has been faithfully maintained by Tracey McNeely. I was on the original Design Team for this challenge so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

As part of the farewell, I was asked to choose my favourite tag that I had made for the challenge. My favourite tag is actually one that I made last year when I was asked to be a Guest Designer. To view the original post go here.

Thank you Tracey for all your hard work with keeping this challenge up and running. It has certainly been appreciated by many and this challenge will be missed.

Bunny Love – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hello. I am slowly get back onto the card making bandwagon again. I have had family staying with us the last 2 weeks and that has involved a lot of things, but not any card making. It felt good to get back into it today.

I have a Penny Black card to share with you using the adorable Bunny Love die. I blended in some Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Oxide inks onto some white card stock. I spritzed it with some water before die cutting out the bunnies. I then die cut the bunnies again from white card stock and inlaid them into the coloured panel. I then adhered another white layer of die cuts over the top of that to add some subtle dimension.

The sentiment is part of a sentiment from the Smitten stamp set, which is a newly released stamp set.

A simple but striking card that was fairly quick to make.

Monster Hugs

Jane's Doodle Banner

Good evening! Well school’s out and I’m on holidays for 6 weeks! Bring on summer 🙂 *insert happy dance*

You might remember this card that I posted a couple of week’s ago. Well for today’s card I used the left over positive die cuts  from that card to create this one! I didn’t want all those awesome circles going to waste. I pulled out Jane’s Doodles Monster Squad stamp set and went to work, colouring with Copics and fussy cutting.

I love the white dots on the purple monster – I used Ranger white enamel accents and a white gel pen. This is going to be my son’s birthday card which is coming up soon.

Season’s Greetings – Penny Black

simplicity sister

I have a simple Christmas card to share with you today. It uses my two favourite crafty items – Distress Oxide inks and die cuts.

I blended in some Lucky Clover and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink onto some Bristol smooth white card stock. I flicked on some water droplets to create the snow effect, which I dabbed off with a paper towel.

I then die cut the Penny Black Swirl Tree from white card stock and adhered it onto the inked panel. Before adhering to the card base, I created some score lines with a stylus and score board to create a decorative border.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black Banner Sentiments stamp set. It’s a bit hard to tell, but the tree die cut has some shimmer thanks to a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.

Cute Christmas Tags – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! I hope your week is going well – and a Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are celebrating.

I have two cute Christmas tags to share with you today using Jane’s Doodles Mr & Mrs Claus and Warm Wishes stamp sets.

I have been on the lookout for a simple round bauble/tag die, so in the meantime I made my own using some circle dies. If anyone has a good suggestion, let me know.

Anyway, I stamped the Santa and snowman and masked them with some masking paper. I blended on some Distress Oxide ink (Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron) then spritzed with water. After removing the masks, I coloured with Copic markers. It’s hard to tell in the photos but the red areas have some shimmer from a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen. I finished them off with some Nuvo Jewel drops.

And don’t forget that Jane’s Doodles is having a sale at the moment – 30% off all stamps! What are you waiting for?

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Mr & Mrs Claus, Warm Wishes stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress Oxide ink – Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Spellbinders standard circle dies, Cuttlebug, Inkadinkadoo masking paper, Wink of Stella clear glitter, Uniball white Signo gel pen, Ink blending tool, Nuvo Jewel drops – Sea Breeze, White cotton twine, Hole punch

And in other news….I finished my school reports today! Yay!!

Jane's Doodle Banner

I hope you enjoyed the Jane’s Doodles blog hop over the weekend. Jane’s newly released stamps are always amazing – if you haven’t seen it, head here.

I am still in Christmas card making mode, and today is no exception. I love combining sets to create little scenes – as it is snow much fun! Ha. I used Winter Wishes, Winter Fun and the newly released Driving Home for Christmas set.

I also busted out my Nuvo Jewel drops (I only own two of them) to add snow to the scene as well as using a white gel pen. I layered up three of the frames around the scene to add some dimension.

Card: X-Press It blending card, Hero Arts Layering Papers – Iris

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Lilac Posies, VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, Distress Oxide Inks – Broken China

I hope you are having a fabulous week.
