Jane’s Doodles New Release Blog Hop and a Giveaway

Hello and welcome to another Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design Team and friends are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp set – Brew-Tea-Ful. You should have arrived from Milka’s blog.

Today my card features not one, but three of the gorgeous cups from the set, which I coloured with Copics. The hardest thing was choosing what colours to use! I then fussy cut them out and added some white gel pen detail to the dots on the design. I sponged one some different coloured ink onto the background of each square panel before adhering the cups with foam squares.

The stitched frame die I used is the Window Quad Square Die from Sunny Studio Stamps.

Good Vibes Only – Jane’s Doodles card and video

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is jdbanner-1-1.jpg

Hey hey friends. I’m back with not only a Jane’s Doodles card, but I also made a video of the assembly process! I haven’t made a card video in over 8 years.

First up the card though. I stamped and coloured the images from the Summer Icons set and then coloured them with Copics. You may have seen I posted two short videos onto my IG account colouring the crab and the palm tree (@mademarionstudio).

I created the windows openings using a the Window Quad Square die from Sunny Studio stamps.

Here is a video of how I assembled the card.

I love how this card turned out. Summer is certainly on its way out here in Australia and autumn is pushing its way in. I miss summer already!

Thanks for joining me today,

Marion

Christmas Bunnies and Tags – Penny Black

I’m back again with some last minute Christmas ideas using Penny Black products from their two winter releases Season of Hope and Winter Wishes.

First up are these these two adorable bunnies from the Hoppy Holidays stamp set. I stamped and coloured them with Copics, then used Prismacolor pencils to add some shading. In order to add some more colour, I stamped the leaves along the top by using part of an image from the Nature’s Allure stamp set in green ink, then blended in some ink over the top. The sentiment is from the Scarved Sweeties set.

Next up are some fun and festive tags using the Get Comfy stamp set and the coordinating dies (Get Comfy cut out). The sentiments are from the Here’s to Xmas stamp set.

These were a lot of fun to make. Which one is your favourite? I’m leaning towards the scarf and beanie one.

To view and or purchase any of these new products from this release, head to the Penny Black online store.

If you have any questions, just email me.

I’m not sure I’ll be back again before Christmas, so I hope you have a blessed time with family and friends.

Merry Christmas,

Christmas Joy x 3 – Penny Black

I am back again for Penny Black showcasing products from their two winter releases Season of Hope and Winter Wishes.

I have three cards to show you using the Mirthful creative die which I am in love it.

First up I adhered some coloured strips of card stock to the card base before adhering the negative space of the die cut over the strips. To finish off the sentiment, I white heat embossed ‘A time to’ which is from the Here’s to xmas stamp set. To add a small pop of colour and to make it a little more Christmasy, I used a portion of some holly from the Scarved Sweeties stamp set.

Next up I clear heat embossed the wreath from the Nature’s Allure stamp set onto both red and white card stock. I then die cut the Mirthful Joy die from both colours and inlay the pieces onto the card base. It is hard to tell from the photos, but the wreath is continuous across the white die cut as well. The “To the World” sentiment is from the Holiday Snippets stamp set. Again, I used a portion of the holly from the Scarved Sweeties stamp set.

Last but not least is this card. I swapped out the ‘O’ for a bauble from the Beautified Baubles creative die set. I went to town Distress inking the background with Peeled Paint and Mowed Lawn. I flicked on water as well as added some gel pen dots and I love the bokeh effect it created.

I white heat embossed ‘A time to’ which is from the Here’s to xmas stamp set as well as popped up the die cuts with some foam.

So there you have three different ways to use that Penny Black Mirthful Joy die. To view and or purchase any of these new products from this release, head to the Penny Black online store.

I’ll be back really soon,

New Penny Black Christmas Releases

Hello! I know it has been a little while since I posted here – almost two months ago. It’s not because I haven’t been crafting, it is just that my life has been super busy. However the good news is that I am now on my summer holiday break, and I have just finished the hardest and most challenging year of my teaching career.

Penny Black have been very busy releasing some new Christmas awesomeness in two releases – Season of Hope and Winter Wishes. Due to COVID, things took a little longer to reach me, but you will be pleased to now that I have a lot lined up to show you this coming week.

My first project isn’t a card, but rather a Christmas decor piece using the Mirthful and Winter Greens creative dies. I love both of these dies as they are slightly bigger than usual.

The Joy is popped up on some foam squares, but the leaves are adhered to the base, which is a whole piece of Neenah solar white card stock. The ‘To the World’ sentiment is from an older Christmas set called Holiday Snippets – I reach for this set every year and white heat embossed it onto black card stock.

I added some pearl drops to the berries to add some dimension. I simply love how it turned out!

Next up is a sweet little winter scene using some cute critters from the Scarved Sweeties set. This one is pretty straight forward – stamped and coloured with Copics and then I added some white gel pen detail for the snow. The trees in the background are from the Snowfield Friends stamp set. I really love creating scenes.

Thanks for sticking with me in this post. To view and or purchase any of these new products from this release, head to the Penny Black online store.

If you have any questions, just email me.

I’ll be back really soon,

Happy Bird-Day – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Today I had the chance to play with another one of Jane’s newer stamp sets called Tropical Birds. I had a lot of fun colouring in the toucan, which I coloured with Copic markers. I fussy cut the leaves and flowers and clustered them together around the oval die cut, which I popped up onto some foam tape.

The sentiment is from an older set called Free as a Bird.

Speaking of Copic markers, I have had to do a lot of Copic maintenance lately as many of my Copics have been running dry. I have also recently discovered that the Copic marker refills have changed – Copic is no longer making the larger Various Ink refills, but are now making the smaller (and more expensive) round 12ml refills. I must have been under a rock, as I didn’t know this – but with lots of research I have found that this shop in Australia called The Art Shop, still have many of the larger refills in stock and I went shopping (the price point was pretty good too). Also on my research journey I found that some Copic colours have been discontinued and some colours have had a name change! I’d love to know if you knew all this – or am I the only one who hadn’t heard?

Anyway, thanks for sticking with me.

If you have any questions about my cards, just contact me and I’d be happy to answer them.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion
