Enjoy – Penny Black ‘Secret Garden’ Inspiration #3

Hi friends, I hope that you are all surviving these crazy times!

I’m back sharing a super fun birthday card using new products from the Penny Black release ‘Secret Garden’.

Today’s card features no stamping what-so-ever. It was all made with die cuts and some ink blending. I used the awesome new Balloons creative die set – two large sized balloons come in this set along with ties and a bow (which I didn’t end up using). I sponged on some Distress Oxide ink onto the balloons before adhering and trimming them down to the card panel size. I love that these dies even come with the balloon highlights.

If you are interested, I used two colours on each balloon – Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade and Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers – I think also added some Salty Ocean to this one as well!

The sentiment is another ‘must have’ die set that I think I will be reaching for quite often. It is called Celebrate & Enjoy and they are good sized dies with a beautiful scripty font. I also inked this up with Distress Oxide ink.

The cloud dies are not from this release, but are ones I use a lot and are called Silver Linings. I popped up the middle balloon to add some dimension, and the clouds are also two die cuts on top of each other to add some subtle dimension.

Fun and Carefree Tag – Penny Black ‘Secret Garden’ Inspiration #2

I’m back sharing a tag I’ve made using Penny Black products from the latest ‘Secret Garden’ release.

Today’s tag uses the sweet cling stamp called Flying By, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured with Copics. I die cut it out using the coordinating Flying By cut out.

The tag die is an oldie, but a goodie die set, called Tagged. I used the Script cling stamp onto the background to add some interest with a brown ink. I also sponged the same ink around the outside of the tag to create a distressed look.

The white heat embossed sentiment is from this new release and is called Carefree Wishes. I popped up the bunny image with some mounting foam and added some cotton thread to complete the tag.

Jane’s Doodles New Release Blog Hop and a Giveaway

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello and welcome to a Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp sets called Wild Flowers and Wild. You should have arrived from Kaja’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here are the two new stamp sets.

Wild Flowers

Wild

For my first card I stamped the large floral arrangement from the Wild Flowers onto some white card stock. The flowers were coloured with Copic markers. I added some light grey shading and dots around the image to add some subtle interest. The sentiment is from the Thankful stamp set.

Next up is a fun card using the Wild set – which I simply love! This set is going to get a good workout from me, as it is perfect for making cards for my kid’s friends!

I stamped all the images straight onto the die cut out panels and then coloured them with Copics. I had fun experimenting with the various green backgrounds and creating different textures. I was trying to break up all the green. The die cut is a MFT die called Stitched collage frame.

In addition to Jane having a 30% off sale on all clear stamps this weekend, she is giving a stamp set of your choice to one lucky winner. All you need to do is comment on all the blogs in the hop and you’ll be in with a chance to win! The winner will be announced on Monday. Good luck!

Thinking of You – Penny Black ‘Share the Love’ Inspiration #2

Hello again! I am back with another card for Penny Black using some products from their latest ‘Share the Love’ release. You can check out all the new products here.

Today’s card uses an adorable bear stamp called Fur-ever Yours. Isn’t he the sweetest? I coloured him with Copic markers and die cut it out with the Fur-ever Yours cut out. The sentiment was white heated embossed over the top of his belly using an awesome new set called Only You.

I mounted the bear onto a die cut panel which was made using the Stitched Stackers die set (which is from a previous release). To create the striped background, I cut some coloured card stock into strips and adhered them to the card base – making sure it was centred.

It’s hard to tell from the photos, but the heart has some subtle shimmer and I added some black enamel accents to the bear’s eyes. I love adding all the little details.

If you have any questions, just email me.

I’ll be back soon with another card,

I Love You – Penny Black Share the Love Inspiration #1

Hello! I am back sharing a card for Penny Black using some awesome goodies from the latest ‘Share the Love’ release. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, this release has lots of inspiration for that someone special in your life.

I stamped and water coloured the images from the Tenderness stamp set with Zig clean color real water brush pens, then die cut them out using the coordinating cut outs. The banner and sentiment are from the Banner Blooms set. There is a coordinating cut out set for this stamp set as well, but I didn’t use it for this card.

Once I had all the images coloured and cut out, I arranged them onto some textured card stock with 3D mounting tape and then adhered the panel to a teal coloured card base.

If you have any questions, just email me.

I’ll be back really soon with some more inspiration,

Hello Friend – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello there friends! Happy New Year. Can you believe we have ticked over into 2020?

Well I have been rather silent for a while – I actually took some time off from my DT work and card making in general, as I just needed a break. December is hectic in my household, with school finishing up for the year, my kid’s birthdays and Christmas. Plus we added in a much needed family summer holiday, which we very much enjoyed.

Well I am back at my crafting desk now and am enjoying the slower pace of life. I’m onto my third novel already!

Anyway, I’m back with a Jane’s Doodle card to share with you using the Monster Squad stamp set. The images are coloured with Copic markers and I fussy cut them out.

I managed to get some new crafty goodies for Christmas, and the die cut frame is one of them. It is the stitched collage frame from My Favorite Things, but I only used a portion of it. The sentiment is white heat embossed and is from the same Jane’s Doodles Monster Squad set.

Thanks for stopping by today – I appreciate it. Remember to email me if you have any questions about my card.

I’ll be back really soon,

Marion
