Jane’s Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop – Love themed stamps

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! Welcome to the Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp release – three new stamp sets just in time for Valentine’s Day. You should have arrived from Ange’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here are the three new sets.

To The Moon

 Pucker Up!

Stinks!

My first card features the To the Moon set. I had a lot of fun creating my space scene. The background is a mix of Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean) and Distress inks (Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot), with some water splatters, some white pigment ink splatters and then I spritzed it with pearlised water to give it some shimmer.

The rocket windows are covered in Glossy Accents to add some dimension.

My next card uses the Pucker Up! and the Stinks! stamp sets. I stamped and coloured the images with Copics, then fussy cut them out. The background has some subtle ink blending to finish off the scene.

My last card is a very simple card made using the Pucker Up! set. Lots of stamping.

Christmas in the Round – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hello! I hope you are having a beautiful day in your neck of the woods. We are finally experiencing some warmer weather where I live which makes me so happy on the inside. I love spring!

Anyway, I have been having a lot of fun with the Penny Black Christmas in the Round rubber stamp. This was released last Christmas and I have been meaning to play with it all year. I have also discovered Ranger’s Liquid Platinum embossing powder and I am in love with this stuff! It is a beautiful muted gold colour – perfect for Christmas in my opinion.

I have made three cards the same, just used different colours, and then I finished off each border a little differently. I started with a white piece of card stock in each case, and coloured it with completely (and very heavily) with Distress Ink (Chipped Sapphire, Festive Berried and Peacock Feathers). I could have used coloured card stock, but realised that I didn’t have any navy card stock left, so I made my own!

Once the card stock was completely dry – I left them overnight to make sure – I then used Versmark ink and stamped the Round For Christmas stamp the embossed it with the Platinum Gold embossing powder and heat set it.

I used the matching Distress Marker colour and coloured in various elements of the ornament. I also covered these areas with a layer of shimmer using a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.

The scoring around the edge was done on a scoring board with a stylus. I changed it up on all three cards for a little bit of variety.

Happy Birthday Kitty Cat

simplicity sister

I’m back with a card that I made for my husband for his birthday that was earlier this week. I’m not too good at producing masculine cards, so I went down the cutesy card path instead. Anyway, he liked his card, so that is all that matters right?

I stamped the cat and balloon from the Time to Celebrate stamp set onto a white panel and coloured it with a mixture of Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils. I then masked off the cat and created my own cloud mask and sponged on some clouds using Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress ink. The sentiment is from the Kind Words stamp set (I did a little bit of stamp surgery here). To finish off the card I covered the balloons in Glossy Accents to make them shine.

Penny Black 30-414 Time to Celebrate stamp set
Penny Black 30-226 Kind Words stamp set
