Timeless – Penny Black Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

It’s a “Party with Penny!”  You’re invited to join in the fun as Penny Black celebrates the release of their newest collection of stamps and dies, Timeless

You should have arrived here from Suzie Lessard’s blog.   If you want to start the hop from the beginning, you can go to the Penny Black blog for a complete list of all of the blog hop participants.

Well to get this party started, I have two cards to share with you today. The first card uses this A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E Penny Black bear from the set called Balloon Ride. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Garden stamp set.

I coloured the images with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. For the background clouds, I hand cut a cloud mask from masking paper and sponged on the clouds with some blue ink. I then re-stamped the bear and balloon image on top of the clouds and adhered the fussy cut bear and balloons over the top.

My next card uses a mixture of two stamp and their coordinating dies – Butterfly Garden and Butterfly Garden Cut Out and Special Friends and Special Friends Cut Out. The sentiment is from the Flower Teddy stamp set.

The butterfly and banner were coloured with Copic markers and die cut using the coordinating dies. The foliage behind the butterfly was stamped in coloured ink, and I added some detail and shading with matching Prismacolor pencils. After a lot of image shuffling (and I mean a lot…), I decided on this layout and I love it. The sentiment was white heat embossed over the top.

And it wouldn’t be a party without a giveaway; right?  Penny Black is giving away a $50 shopping spree to the Penny Black online store to FIVE lucky winners.  To enter, leave a comment on any blog hop post (this one included). The giveaway closes on Sunday, March 10 at 11:59 PM PST and winners will be announced on the Penny Black blog on March 18.

You are a Blessing – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hi friends! I hope you have had a great week. Today I have a card to share with you using some Penny Black products. I am really into floral cards at the moment, so when the urge is there, I have to respond. And I think this is probably one of my all time favourite floral stamps from Penny Black – Flower Cascade. The sentiment is from the Choose Happy stamp set.

The floral image was stamped and then coloured with Copic markers. I used a craft knife, a ruler and scissors to partially cut out the image and frame before mounting it onto the card base. I stamped the sentiment in VersaFine onyx black ink. To finish it off, I added some white gel pen detail to the petals and splattered some white ink onto the right side of the card.

I love how it turned out.

Penny Black products used:
40-466 Flower Cascade stamp set
30-464 Choose Happy stamp set

Stamps: Penny Black Flower Cascade and Choose Happy stamp sets

Sending Hugs – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

It’s been a little quiet here on the blog as I’ve been enjoying the last of my summer holidays. But I’m back today with two Jane’s Doodles cards.

This first card features my favourite Jane’s Doodles floral set which is called Bloom. I stamped the images, coloured them with Copic markers and then fussy cut them out. I embossed the card base with a Penny Black stencil and tan embossing mat and mounted the flowers onto a MFT dome die cut. The sentiment is form the All Occasions stamp set.

Next up is a card that was on the Jane’s Doodles blog a couple of week’s ago. See the original post here. This card was inspired by a card made by Isha Gupta which you can find here. I loved her colour combo and the layout.

For this card I used the Free-As-a-Bird and Tropical Fun stamp sets.

Thankful and Blessed – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hi! I’m back with a Jane’s Doodles card using the stamp sets Bloom and Hello Fall. It was up on the Jane’s Doodle blog last week – you can find the post here.

I masked and stamped the floral and leaf cluster – not something I usually do as I am lazy and I find cutting masks out a pain. But for some reason I decided this was the way to go. As I am a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants crafter, I had to add the red flower as an additional piece, so it ended up not being a one layer panel.

I love adding some subtle stencilling onto the card base to give it that something extra.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Bloom and Hello Fall stamp sets

Card: Neenah solar white card stock, Light Blue card stock

Ink: Memento Tuxedo black ink, VersaFine Onyx Black ink, Green ink

Other Supplies: Copic markers, 3D mounting foam, Nuvo Drops – Sea Breeze, Penny Black Oscillations stencil

So this card is a little thank you to all my blog readers for your support and encouragement in 2018. I am thankful and blessed to be part of such a warm and friendly community.

Until next time,

Marion

With Heartfelt Sympathy – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Good evening! Today I have a card to share using some Penny Black products. I love ink blending so decided to pull out some awesome Distress Oxide ink colours – Squeezed marmalade, Spiced Marmalade and Candied Apple.

Once the panel was inked up and dried completely, I stamped the branches and bird (from the Penny Black You & Me stamp set) in Versamark ink and white heat embossed them. The sentiment is from the Penny Black Soar stamp set, also white heat embossed.

I added some translucent Nuvo drops around the branches for some additional details.

Penny Black – Garden Gems

simplicity sister

Hello! I hope this post finds you well. I am on spring break from school and I AM LOVING IT! Sleeping in, making cards, playing games with the kids…it is so good to stop and unwind from work.

Today I have a card for Penny Black that uses a technique that I have never tried before! I guess it is no-line colouring, but for me it was so good to get out the Prismacolor pencils and blend and play! This wasn’t a quick card to make, but I sure enjoyed the colouring process.

The stamp I used is the Penny Black Garden Gems rubber stamp. I stamped this is VersaFine Smoky Grey ink. The great thing about this stamp is that it shows the shading, so it helps me to know where to put the shadows and highlights.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black Happy Critters stamp set and was white heat embossed onto some grey card stock.

Penny Black products used:
40-591 Penny Black Garden Gems
30-479 Penny Black Happy Critters
