Birthday Surprise Blog Hop for Jane and a Giveaway

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello friends – it has been a while I know! Today I am participating in a very special birthday blog hop for a very special lady – and that is Jane Beljo; the wonderful and uber talented woman behind Jane’s Doodles. Jane is a mum, a wife and a very hardworking woman who illustrates all her own stamps. I have had the privilege of working on Jane’s DT for many years now, and I just love her fun and whimsical designs. A big thank you to Milka for organising this hop.

You should have arrived from Linda Van Wely’s blog. There are a list of blog hop participants at the end of this post should you get lost along the way.

Today I have made a card for Jane to tell her how awesome she is and I hope you have an awesome birthday today. I have used Jane’s Tropical Fun and the All Occasions stamp sets.

I hope this summery card warms your heart Jane, even though you are probably knee-deep in snow! Summer is definitely here in Australia – so I hope I can send some warm sunshine your way.

Jane’s Doodles – Hello, Chameleon and a DT call

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello. I have two Jane’s Doodles cards to share which have been on the Jane’s Doodles blog, but not here on my personal blog.

First up is a card that uses the Plumeria and Cactus stamp sets. I stamped and coloured the frangipani blooms with Copic markers and tucked in a few extra leaves to fill out the cluster. The sun rays on the card base is an old Simon Says Stamp die that is discontinued, which I die cut from some acetate and used it as a stencil.

Next up is this very CASE chameleon card using the Chameleon stamp set – who doesn’t love a good old googly eye?

Again I used Copic markers to colour the image. I embossed a stitched border to add some interest, using a MFT rectangle stax die.

And before I go, just giving you the heads up that Jane is having a Challenge DT call. A very exciting development for Jane and her stamp company. Head here for all the details if you wish to apply.

If you want to know anything about any of my cards, just contact me through the email icon on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time,

Jane’s Doodles New Release Blog Hop and a Giveaway

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello and welcome to another Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp set called Cozy Up! You should have arrived from Kaja’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here is the Cozy Up! stamp set.

I’ve made two very different cards using this set. The first one has quite a retro feel to it. I masked off several areas using washi tape, and made sure that the stamps fit into the space I was creating for them. I then inked up each rectangle using a variety of Distress Oxide inks (I gave my daughter free range of the colour choices and where to put them – and I think she did a great job). All that was left to do, was stamp the images from the set with a new rich black ink – I used VersaFine Onyx black ink.

The second card is a little bit more traditional in style. I stamped and coloured the images in with Copics and used a MFT die to cut out the arched shape. This sentiment is from an older set (but one I reach for ALL the time) and is called All Occasions. I haven’t used patterned paper in so long, so it was fun to create a wallpaper feel for the background.

Giveaway:
In addition to Jane having a 25% off sale on all clear stamps until this Wednesday, she is giving a stamp set of your choice to one lucky winner. All you need to do is comment on all the blogs in the hop and you’ll be in with a chance to win! Good luck!

Hugs – Penny Black Dreaming Inspiration #6

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is penny-black-dreaming-june-2019.jpg

Hi. I’m back sharing another Penny Black card using yet another cute bear image from the Dreaming release. This bear stamp is called Pawsome Present. I also used the Polaroid die and die cut it from some green card stock. To add some interest to the frame, I stamped some foliage images in green ink for a tone one tone effect. These foliage images are from the Special Friends and the Butterfly Garden sets.

For the subtle chevron pattern on yellow base card, I inked up a sponge dauber with some yellow ink and used the Zigs & Zags stencil. The sentiment is from the Huggable stamp set.

With Love – Penny Black Dreaming Inspiration #5

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is penny-black-dreaming-june-2019.jpg

I’m back with another adorable Penny Black critter. This stamp is called A Present and is from the Dreaming release. The sentiment is from the It’s Your Day stamp set.

I coloured the image with Copic markers and for something different I used Prismacolor pencils to add the shading. The dotty stencil is an older one, but I use it all the time and it is called Oscillations. I die cut the circle window using a standard sized circle die from Spellbinders.

Jane’s Doodles – Good Vibes Only

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hi, I’m back to share a couple of Jane’s Doodles cards with you. First up is a summery and sunny beach themed card. I am soooo over winter here in Australia. It has been really cold and windy and most unpleasant. But not on this card.

I stamped and coloured 3 images from the the Summer Icons set. I die cut them with a small circle die. On the blue base card, I stamped the wave pattern using the Patterns stamp set. I then die cut 3 more circles into the coloured panel and popped it up with some foam tape onto the card base. I then adhered the images into the cut outs so that they are set down.

The next card is a card using the new Peony stamp set. Coloured with Copics markers. The sentiment is from the All Occasions stamp set.

Currently Jane is on holiday as is the shop, but she will be back on August the 20th.

If you want to know anything about any of my cards, just contact me through the email icon on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time,

Marion
