He is Risen – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! With Easter just around the corner, I thought it was time to make an Easter card – and one with a very powerful message. You can also find it over on the Jane’s Doodle blog here.

The image is from the He is Risen set and is coloured with Copic markers. I added some Glossy Accents to the flowers. I felt that the card was a little plain, so I added a border, which I created with a score board.

It is hard to tell, but the middle portion of the banner is raised up on some mounting foam. I had to do this to cover a mis-stamp of the sentiment, but in the end, it looked better as it added a bit more interest to what was a very CAS card.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles He is Risen stamp set

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, VersaFine Onyx black ink

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Prismacolor pencils, 3D mounting foam, Martha Stewart Score board, Glossy Accents

Scentsational – Jane’s Doodle

Jane's Doodle Banner

I’m over on the Jane’s Doodles blog today, where I have been testing out Jane’s new dies! I can report that they cut like butter. I created this little scene using the Stinks stamp set and the matching Stinks dies. What’s even more exciting is that Jane is offering 20% off store wide today!

I had fun creating this little scene. After stamping and die cutting the images, I coloured them with Copics. I did a little Distress Oxide ink blending behind the circle panel which was cut from some wood grain card stock – which I am hoarding as I love it so much and have a limited supply. Any fellow Aussie crafters know where I can get some heavier weight wood grain card stock in Australia at a decent price? I’d love to hear from you.

I also have a few other JD projects that I have made which I haven’t posted here yet, from a couple of weeks ago. You can find the original post here. If you want to know any of the supplies for these two, just contact me and I’ll let you know!

And this one.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Stinks stamp set

Card: X-Press It blending card, SSS Wood grain card stock, Black card stock

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress Oxide ink – Broken China, Salty Ocean and Lucky Clover, Versamark

I Love You – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Today I am sharing a card that I made for the Jane’s Doodles blog last week – using one of my favourite JD sets called Love Birds.

I die cut several circles from masking paper and then inked up the circles with various Distress inks. I made sure to place the larger circles where I wanted the birds to be. I did a little bit of water flicking to distress the circles a bit, but as I didn’t use watercolour paper, it didn’t react with the inks quite like I had hoped. I then stamped and coloured the images with Copic markers, before fussy cutting them out and adhering them to the card. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the card base.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Love Birds stamp set

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress ink – Mermaid Lagoon, Abandoned Coral, Cracked Pistachio and Fossilized Amber, VersaFine Onyx black ink

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Spellbinders circle dies, Cuttlebug, Inkadinkadoo masking paper, Ink blending tool, Adhesive

Jane’s Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop – Love themed stamps

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! Welcome to the Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp release – three new stamp sets just in time for Valentine’s Day. You should have arrived from Ange’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here are the three new sets.

To The Moon

 Pucker Up!

Stinks!

My first card features the To the Moon set. I had a lot of fun creating my space scene. The background is a mix of Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean) and Distress inks (Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot), with some water splatters, some white pigment ink splatters and then I spritzed it with pearlised water to give it some shimmer.

The rocket windows are covered in Glossy Accents to add some dimension.

My next card uses the Pucker Up! and the Stinks! stamp sets. I stamped and coloured the images with Copics, then fussy cut them out. The background has some subtle ink blending to finish off the scene.

My last card is a very simple card made using the Pucker Up! set. Lots of stamping.

Love You – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I am back with a card that I made for the Jane’s Doodles blog last week. And did you catch the VERY exciting news for Jane’s Doodles fans? I won’t spoil it – head here for my card and the announcement.

Today’s card was inspired by an advertisement I saw flipping through some junk mail recently. Inspiration is all around us.

Firstly, I die cut the large Love You letters (MFT dies) from masking paper and positioned them on the card (this was the most time consuming part of making the card – lining them up to be straight!). I then grabbed some hearts from various Jane’s Doodles sets (Monster Squad, Dogs and Love Birds) and got stamping around the letters using Distress Oxide inks (and one Memento Luxe ink). It was fun to peel away the masked letters to reveal the stamping. All that was left to do was stamp and colour the birds from the Love birds set and the sentiment and add them to my card.

I just love how it turned out – especially after adding those googly eyes!

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Love Birds, Dogs and Monster Squad stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress Oxide ink – Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Worn Lipstick, Memento Luxe ink – Morocco

Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, MFT High rise Uppercase Die-namics dies, Cuttlebug, Inkadinkadoo masking paper, Googly eyes, 3D mounting foam
