Sweet 17 – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I made for my niece’s 17th birthday. I actually made this around the same time as this card that was over on the Penny Black Simplicity At its Best blog. I was having fun playing around with the Penny Black Numbers Creative dies.

This card still uses the inlay die cutting technique for the focal panel with the 17, but for all those blue glittery numbers I made my own stickers using double sided adhesive and some glitter card stock that I had in my stash.

A fun and simple way to make a card, and I didn’t use any inks or stamps!

Knowing You – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Today I have a monochromatic card to share with you using Penny Black products. I’ve incorporated stencilling, die cutting and stamping into this one.

I stencilled on some teal ink over the Oscillations stencil, to create the chevron-like pattern. The leaves were die cut from a mixture of white card stock and vellum using the Leaves Creative die set. Finally the sentiment is a favourite of mine and is from the Sentiment Collection stamp set. This set has some beautiful sentiments in it.

To finish off the card I added some clear gems.

Penny Black Sneak Peek

simplicity sister

Hello! Today I have a project up on the Simplicity at its Best blog. I had fun playing around with my Distress Markers (which I haven’t used in ages) and created a water coloured card without needing any skills in how to water colour! Check it out the card with instructions here.

I’ve used a beautiful slapstick/cling stamp called Sunbursts.

Hello 40!

simplicity sister

Hello! I’m back with another card using some Penny Black products. I needed a 40th card for a dear friend of mine and so this card was born.

The background was created with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours paints. The butterfly is the largest butterfly from the Penny Black Butterfly Trio set and was white heat embossed onto vellum. The sentiment was created using two creative die sets, Numbers and Hello Christmas.
