Happy Anniversary – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hello. I hope you are having a relaxed weekend. Today I have a Penny Black card to share with you. This card uses a very different colour scheme to my usual go-to-bright-and-happy-colours, but it is good to stretch oneself and try something new.

I inked up the Penny Black You + Me stamp set with Distress ink. I then stamped the image off onto a scrap piece of paper before spritzing it with some water and stamping onto my watercolour panel. I used two shades of green distress ink (Peeled Paint, Forest Moss). I hit it with my heat gun after each stamping to ensure the watercolour didn’t run. The birds were stamped with Vintage Photo distress ink. Once dry, I then cut the panel into three equal segments before mounting them into a khaki card base.

Thank you

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We have had our house full of people, 12 in total, so it has been very busy in the kitchen, but loads of fun as well.

I can’t believe that today is the last day of 2015. What are your plans for celebrating New Year’s Eve? We are heading down town for an annual firework display over the harbour and then we’ll play some games to bring in the New Year.

Today I am sharing a thank you card as I want to thank all of you, my blog readers, for your support and encouragement this year. I hope that you have found some inspiration from the cards that I make. I really appreciate all your comments.

Today I’ve used Penny Black dies, stamps and stencils on this card. And I got to use my new Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolour set that my hubby got for me for Christmas. Wow they are so creamy and luscious.

Thank you Penny Black | Marion Vagg

Celebrate Christmas with Penny Black

simplicity sister

Oh my! How this year is flying by. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you using some gorgeous Penny Black products. Lots of ink blending on this one – with three of my most favourite Distress inks – Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed. Once my panel was inked, I flicked it with some water and a paintbrush and dabbed it with a dry cloth to create the spatters.

I then die cut the Penny Black Twirl Tree three times and adhered these together with some spray adhesive. I also die cut the Penny Black Hello Christmas sentiment three times from white card stock and adhered these together. The celebrate sentiment is from the Holiday Snippets stamp set.
