Three Butterflies Tag – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! I am officially on school holidays! It has been a mammoth school term (12 weeks for us teachers) and I am in need of a really long sleep…. I’m back with some Janes’s Doodles tags that I made last week and haven’t had a chance to post here until now. You can find the original on the Jane’s Doodles blog here.

The butterflies are from the Doodle Flowers stamp set and the sentiments are from the Dots and Strips stamp set. Nothing too complicated – simple Copic colouring, fussy cutting and then I stamped the image in black on the tag (to get the antennae) and then adhered the wings over the top. I added some shimmer to the wings as well.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Doodle Flowers and Dot and Stripes stamp set

Card: X-Press It blending card, Hero Arts woodgrain card stock

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, VersaFine Onyx black ink

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Penny Black Tagged Die, Cuttlebug, Red and Blue hemp twine, Wink of Stella glitter brush pen

Thanks for stopping by today.

Cute Christmas Tags – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! I hope your week is going well – and a Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are celebrating.

I have two cute Christmas tags to share with you today using Jane’s Doodles Mr & Mrs Claus and Warm Wishes stamp sets.

I have been on the lookout for a simple round bauble/tag die, so in the meantime I made my own using some circle dies. If anyone has a good suggestion, let me know.

Anyway, I stamped the Santa and snowman and masked them with some masking paper. I blended on some Distress Oxide ink (Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron) then spritzed with water. After removing the masks, I coloured with Copic markers. It’s hard to tell in the photos but the red areas have some shimmer from a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen. I finished them off with some Nuvo Jewel drops.

And don’t forget that Jane’s Doodles is having a sale at the moment – 30% off all stamps! What are you waiting for?

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Mr & Mrs Claus, Warm Wishes stamp sets

Colourful Tags – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! It’s been quite sometime since I last posted. There has been good reason for my absence – My hubby and I went on a little vay-cay (without the kids mind you) to Canada! We had an awesome time and loved experiencing such a beautiful country. I won’t bore you with details here, but you may have seen a few photos I put up over on Instagram (@marionvagg).

Today I have some playful tags to share with you, using a variety of Jane’s Doodles stamp sets. You can see them also on the Jane’s Doodle blog here.

I created the stripes in the background using the Stripes and Dots stamp set and a variety of ink colours. I overlapped the stripes, which created additional colours. The shelf was stamped from the LOVE  stamp set – it is actually a scalloped border, but I coloured it in with a black marker and it became a shelf! The plants are from the Plants and Cactus stamp sets.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Plants, Cactus, LOVE and Stripes and Dots stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, Hero Arts inks – Pale Tomato, Bubblegum, Butter bar, Cantalope, Orange Soda, Grape Juice, Ultra Pink

Other Supplies: Paper Smooches Tag die, Cuttlebug, Hole Punch, Cotton thread, Wink of Stellar glitter brush pen – Clear, Tombow black marker

I appreciate you stopping by today,

Unicorns and Rainbows – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

My daughter was invited to a unicorn and rainbow themed birthday party last weekend, so that called for Jane’s Unicorn set.

I started by die cutting a tag from blue cardstock. I then die cut a cloud border die from masking paper and used an ink blending tool and some Salty Ocean Distress ink to create the clouds. Then it was a simple matter of stamping the rainbow and unicorn onto some white card stock and colouring them with Copic markers. After fussy cutting them out, I added several layers of a Wink of Stellar clear glitter brush pen to the rainbow and wings/mane. It is very shimmery in real life, but isn’t captured in the photo. The sentiment is from the Cake! stamp set.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Unicorn and Cake! stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card, Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue

Ink: VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, Memento – Tuxedo Black ink,  Distress ink – Salty Ocean

Other Supplies: Paper Smooches Tag die, Poppy Stamps dies – Puffy Cloud Border, Cuttlebug, Copic markers, Ink blending tool, Inkadinkadoo Masking Paper, Hole Punch, Cotton thread, Wink of Stellar glitter brush pen – Clear

Happy Belated Birthday Tag – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I am over on the Jane’s Doodle blog again this week, using a set called Belated Birthday. I am really having a lot of fun with this set at the moment and obviously I am having a lot of fun making tags as well!

I found this tag in my stash that I made sometime ago using an acetate stencil I made from an old SSS Sunshine die (which I believe is not available any more) and some texture paste that I had coloured with Distress Ink. The images are all coloured with Copics and then I fussy cut them out. I added some clear Wink of Stella (of course!) and some Glossy Accents to add some shine.

I love making tags and they are simple projects that I can put on my kid’s friends gifts.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Belated Birthday stamp set

Card: X-Press It blending card, Black card stock

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress ink Mustard Seed

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen, Texture Paste, Palette knife, Paper Smooches Tag die, Cuttlebug, Hole Punch, Glossy Accents, SSS Sunshine die (discontinued), Acetate, Hero Arts embossing powder – white, Heat tool

Featured Artist – Tag You’re It #67

I am really honoured to be the Featured Artist over on the Tag You’re It challenge blog for their 67th challenge. A big thank you to Tracey McNeely for inviting me. If you follow my blog, you would know I am a huge fan of making tags and I also used to be on the Design Team for this challenge. So it is nice to be back as a Featured Artist!

This tag is a little different to my usual style, but I was in the mood for some layers, texture and a more feminine creation. I used some texture paste and a Kaisercraft stencil to add texture to the background. The flower is a Die-Namics die called Upsy Daisies and the sentiment is from a MFT set called Label Maker Sentiments. The leaves die is a Fancy That die called Leafy Swirl.

I can’t wait to see how my tag inspires you. I hope you get a chance to play along. Head to the TYI blog for all the details.
