Saddle Stitch Flower
Not sure about you, but when I come across a card that I really like, I make note of it and its URL so that I have a list of inspirational cards that I can turn to.
Well this is one of those cards that I just adore… and it comes from one of my all time favourite card makers – Laurie Willison. You should check out her blog – Soapbox Creations.
She made this card a while back and posted this video on how she made her flower out of saddle stitch ribbon – so I gave it a go and it was so simple to do. I had fun completely casing her whole design actually.
Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts Flowing Flowers and Leaves Cling stamp, Hero Arts Blossoms Cling stamp set
Ink: VersaColor – Cardinal, Aged Paper distress ink, VersaMark Watermark Ink
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), White card, Pale green Bazzill card – 2 shades
Other Supplies: Red saddle stitch ribbon, Nestabilities -Labels 4, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Computer generated font – CAC Pinafore printed in grey, Zots 3D dots, sponge dauber, white uniball gel pen
So another personalised 60th birthday card made for a friend.
Thanks for taking the time to read and have a look.
Until next time,
These just continue to blow me away! Looks completely professional, and the backgrounds look good too. I LOVE this card…I haven’t seen this style before.
Marion!! WOW! I love this! Thank you so much for the little shout out! Your flower is perfect and I just love the card! Made my day! 🙂
You are going to be sooo hooked on those Nesties! My ‘circles’ would have to be my favourite… I haven’t worn them out yet but I’m working on it.
This is a fab version of Lauries card. I love the colours you chose and your flower is just beautiful!
