Quilled Butterfly

I actually do quite a bit of quilling, so I thought that it was high time I posted a quilled card! This is a simple little butterfly that I have made quite a lot of….it can be used for birthdays, new babies, thank you, etc…..a very versatile little bug really!

Supplies: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold card), patterned paper (had this in my stash from the beginning of time so no idea what brand it is), Bazzill card stock (2 pinks), pink and white 3mm quilling paper, Wendy Irving “New arrival” rub on, 2 x square punches (Carl craft and Whale of a punch), corner chomper.

I hope this inspires you to dig out your quilling tools or give quilling a go if you have never tried it. Quilling doesn’t need to be complicated.

Until next time,

Marion

Giraffe – Baby boy card

This little giraffe is another digital stamp that I bought from Squigglefly. Isn’t he a cutie?? I coloured him in with Derwents and Gamsol. What I love about Squigglefly is not only the cheap digistamps, but they also have examples of how other people have used that stamp. I got my inspiration for the layout of this card from Kerry over at ‘A load of old pickle’. Check her cute little giraffe card here. She has some really cute stuff going on! I love her style of card making!!

Anyway this is my card…

Supplies: Regal Craft card (white textured single fold), 7 Gypsies patterned paper, white cardstock, bazzill cardstock (beige and brown), Squigglefly digistamp – sitting giraffe, derwent pencils, Gamsol, computer font ‘CAC Pinafore’, brown felt pen, glossy accents, Verscolor ink ‘Bark’ and sponge daubers.

I used glossy accents on the bow around his neck to make it stand out a little and give the card some dimension.

Hope you are having a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Butterfly

Since we are now into spring and I can feel it (and see it!!) in the air, I thought it was time for a blog theme change…

Anyway, to a card. A little number that I designed last week.

Supplies: Regal Craft Card (textured single fold), white cardstock, Kaisercraft clear Butterfly stamp,  White embossing powder, Blue and Purple VersaColor ink, sponge daubers, paintbrush, bazzill card stock (2 shades of purple), Creative Memories circle cutters, Carl Craft circle punch, Kaisercraft pearls, Wendy Irving ‘Get Well Soon’ rub-on, Swiss Dots embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Corner chomper, Zots clear adhesive glue dots.

I used the embossed resist technique on the butterfly  but I had to use a paintbrush to paint in the spots as the sponge daubers were too big. I gave the wings some dimension using Zots clear adhesive dots. One day I will own some scallop nesties…but until then, I made my own scalloped edge using my circle punch. Overall a really simple and easy card to make.

Enjoy.

CASE Study Challenge #5

I have been planning my entry to the CASE Study #5 Challenge all week in my head and I only started working on it last night! However I have managed to pull something off, although what I was planning in my head bears little resemblance to the finished product! Why does this always happen?

Anyway, CASE Study has a new Muse for the month of September, another talented lady by the name of Mariana Grigsby. You should check out her blog. I fell in love with her card as soon as I saw it…this style of card making appeals to me.

For my card I used a similar layout to Mariana’s inspiration card, and I was also inspired by her embossed background. I loved her polka dot ribbon and even though it is small, I have also used some polka dot ribbon.

Supplies: Regal Craft White card (smooth horizontal fold), Bazzill cardstock (blue), Cuttlebug, Fleur de Lis embossing folder, White cardstock, Autumn Leaves Clear Flower stamp (sketch flower?), Small flower wood mounted stamp (no idea of the name or brand…I have had it since the beginning of time!!), Copic markers, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, VersaColor ‘Atlanta Blue’ ink, Kaisercraft textured clear stamp – Grid (stamping on small white background piece), Hero Arts Blossoms clear stamp set (stamping on vase), sponge dauber, Kaisercraft pearls, Pebbles Inc ‘Happy Birthday’ rub-on, yellow polka dot ribbon, green cardstock (for stems and leaves), thin white ribbon, 3D foam squares, corner chomper.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Silhouette Flowers

Hi there,

Just sharing a simple little number which I made a little while ago and have just revisited on my computer now. It uses the Hero Arts Silhouette Flower Cling stamp. I inked up some white cardstock with yellow ink and then stamped over the top with a blue ink (it is a reverse image stamp). I didn’t use all of the stamped image, but trimmed it up so that it was slightly smaller. The effect was quite subtle and effective. Jennifer McGuire’s use of the stamp was my inspiration for this card.

Supplies: Regal Craft white textured card, Hero Arts Silhouette Flowers cling stamp, Blue and yellow Versacolor Inks, White cardstock, White ribbon, TLC Quik Words rub-on sentiments for cards, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft Pearls – latte.

I’d love to know what you think.

Until next time,

Marion

More cute cars

Hi there,

I have been once again playing around with this cute little Kaisercraft car stamp. As the saying goes – keep it simple, and this is what I have done! I borrowed the layout design from the Members Gallery (toomanycrayons) at the Two Peas in a Bucket website. I didn’t have a bunting stamp, so I made my own using scraps of coloured papers from my stash and then covering them with glossy accents. I used foam dots to raise up the car and give it some dimension. Glossy accents were used for the car windows as well.

Supplies: Regal Craft white card (textured), X-Press It white paper (for cars), copic markers, Memento Black Tuxedo Ink, Kaisercraft car stamp, Glossy Accents, foam dots, Kaisercraft ‘Happy Birthday’ rub-ons, scraps of patterned paper, black felt pen.

Really, really simple and it was quick an easy – gotta love that! Great for little boys birthdays!

Take care,

Marion

CASE Study Challenge #4

CASE study are having their 4th challenge and I couldn’t resist entering into it again….I think I am becoming hooked on challenges!!

Once again the beautiful inspiration card was designed by Maki Jones. I love her flower in this one….just perfect!

I was inspired by the orange and green colours Maki used in her design (but I added blue as well) and also the use of the oval with the flower on the side. I also incorporated the scallop edge into my design.

And here is my card!

I made my own flowers using the Ume Carl Craft punch and used the same paper from the border on the side. I made the text in Microsoft Word and distressed the green border around the text, though this is hard to see in the photo.

Supplies: Regal Craft White textured card, Kaisercraft papers – Sugar Cookie, Choir and Darleejing, blue Bazzill cardstock, Kaisercraft pearl embellishments, Carl Craft Punch – Ume (for flowers), Versacolor Ink – bark (distressing oval and flowers), sponge daubers, Hero Arts Blossoms stamp (for leaves), foam dots, Zots clear adhesive dots, Microsoft Word.

Thanks for looking,

Have a great day,

Marion
