Jane’s Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop – Love themed stamps

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello! Welcome to the Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp release – three new stamp sets just in time for Valentine’s Day. You should have arrived from Ange’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here are the three new sets.

To The Moon

 Pucker Up!

Stinks!

My first card features the To the Moon set. I had a lot of fun creating my space scene. The background is a mix of Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean) and Distress inks (Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot), with some water splatters, some white pigment ink splatters and then I spritzed it with pearlised water to give it some shimmer.

The rocket windows are covered in Glossy Accents to add some dimension.

My next card uses the Pucker Up! and the Stinks! stamp sets. I stamped and coloured the images with Copics, then fussy cut them out. The background has some subtle ink blending to finish off the scene.

My last card is a very simple card made using the Pucker Up! set. Lots of stamping.

In addition to Jane having a 20% off sale on all clear stamps this weekend, she is giving a stamp set of your choice to one lucky winner. All you need to do is comment on all the blogs in the hop and you’ll be in with a chance to win! Good luck!

Love You – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I am back with a card that I made for the Jane’s Doodles blog last week. And did you catch the VERY exciting news for Jane’s Doodles fans? I won’t spoil it – head here for my card and the announcement.

Today’s card was inspired by an advertisement I saw flipping through some junk mail recently. Inspiration is all around us.

Firstly, I die cut the large Love You letters (MFT dies) from masking paper and positioned them on the card (this was the most time consuming part of making the card – lining them up to be straight!). I then grabbed some hearts from various Jane’s Doodles sets (Monster Squad, Dogs and Love Birds) and got stamping around the letters using Distress Oxide inks (and one Memento Luxe ink). It was fun to peel away the masked letters to reveal the stamping. All that was left to do was stamp and colour the birds from the Love birds set and the sentiment and add them to my card.

I just love how it turned out – especially after adding those googly eyes!

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Love Birds, Dogs and Monster Squad stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress Oxide ink – Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Worn Lipstick, Memento Luxe ink – Morocco

Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, MFT High rise Uppercase Die-namics dies, Cuttlebug, Inkadinkadoo masking paper, Googly eyes, 3D mounting foam

Thanks for stopping by today. I am enjoying my summer holidays and have a few more weeks left until school starts again. I love holidays!

Farewell to the Tag You’re It Challenge

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to the Tag You’re It challenge that has been faithfully maintained by Tracey McNeely. I was on the original Design Team for this challenge so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

As part of the farewell, I was asked to choose my favourite tag that I had made for the challenge. My favourite tag is actually one that I made last year when I was asked to be a Guest Designer. To view the original post go here.

Bunny Love – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hello. I am slowly get back onto the card making bandwagon again. I have had family staying with us the last 2 weeks and that has involved a lot of things, but not any card making. It felt good to get back into it today.

I have a Penny Black card to share with you using the adorable Bunny Love die. I blended in some Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Oxide inks onto some white card stock. I spritzed it with some water before die cutting out the bunnies. I then die cut the bunnies again from white card stock and inlaid them into the coloured panel. I then adhered another white layer of die cuts over the top of that to add some subtle dimension.

The sentiment is part of a sentiment from the Smitten stamp set, which is a newly released stamp set.

A simple but striking card that was fairly quick to make.

Penny Black products used:

Penny Black 51-289 Bunny Love creative die
Penny Black 30-455 Smitten stamp set

Monster Hugs

Jane's Doodle Banner

Good evening! Well school’s out and I’m on holidays for 6 weeks! Bring on summer 🙂 *insert happy dance*

You might remember this card that I posted a couple of week’s ago. Well for today’s card I used the left over positive die cuts  from that card to create this one! I didn’t want all those awesome circles going to waste. I pulled out Jane’s Doodles Monster Squad stamp set and went to work, colouring with Copics and fussy cutting.

I love the white dots on the purple monster – I used Ranger white enamel accents and a white gel pen. This is going to be my son’s birthday card which is coming up soon.
