ABSC041

Hi everyone,

It’s Friday so that means it is time for another challenge at AnnaBelles’s …this week is a sketch challenge.

I decided to turn the sketch on its side. I actually mixed and matched some stamps for this one. The flower head is from the Squared Posies set, but I wanted a longer stem, so I used some stem/leaves  from a stamp in the Whimsy Flowers set. I decided to use a big button as the circle component of the sketch.

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps “Squared Posies” and “Whimsy Flowers
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Distress Inks – Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint, Dried Marigold
Card: Regal Craft Card (White textured single fold), Bazzill card – green, ribbed white card, X-Press It blending card
Other Supplies: Annabelle’s Sprinkles – 6mm Lime, American Crafts clear embossing powder, heat gun,  foam dimensionals, paint brush, pink striped grosgrain ribbon, pink button (from my stash brand unknown), Glossy Accents, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Polka Dots embossing folder, sponge dauber, WRMK corner chomper, DMC Floss – white, Zots adhesive dots – small, Copic markers, black felt pen

Thanks for dropping by…hope that you can join in and play along – the winner will receive a $15 Gift voucher to the store. Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT have created. Their links are on the left sidebar.

Until next time,

Marion

Wedding Butterflies

Good evening,

Popping in quickly with a wedding card. The wreath was made the same way as I made this wreath on a previous Christmas card. The butterflies were heat embossed onto vellum – something I have never tried before, but I like how they turned out. I am entering this into the CAS-uals Friday embossing challenge.

A close up of those vellum butterflies and the wreath which I distressed with Worn Lipstick and then cut around by hand. The photo doesn’t show the score lines on the back panel well, but they are more pronounced in real life.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Playful Animals stamp set (CL155), Hero Arts Antique Engravings stamp set (CL383)
Ink: Versamark watermark ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Worn Lipstick
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured square – cut to size), X-Press It blending card
Other Supplies: Vellum, Zing embossing powder – white, heat gun, Kaisercraft perals – snow, pearl, cream, pink, Glossy Accents (to adhere butterflies), Martha Steward score board, Kaisercraft ‘Wedding” rub on.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Say it with…distressing

Hi everyone,

This week’s challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps  is distressing. Not what I normally do, so I did find it a little bit of a challenge, but I still managed to create a CAS card.  I used distress inks to create the sunset scene (I love to do this) and then distressed the edges with my scissors (something that I don’t do often). I also flicked some water onto the background to add to the distressed feel. I stamped the images from the Dotted Flowers stamp set and then coloured them in with a black felt pen to create a silhouette image.

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps “Dotted Flowers
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress inks – Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Barn Door
Card: Regal Craft Card (White textured single fold), X-Press It Blending card
Other Supplies: Foam dimensionals, black felt pen, white DMC floss, S.E.I button, scissors (for distressing), blending tool

Hope that you can play along. The winner will receive a special blinkie and a little something from the AnnaBelle store. And don’t forget that you still have time to win the Squared Posies stamp set from the blog hop on Tuesday – it’s open to everyone, so why not add your name? Go here for the details.

Until next time,

Marion

Say it in…Raspberry, Olive and Orange

Hi ya,

It’s time for another challenge over at the AnnaBelle Stamps Blog where the challenge this week is to use the colours Raspberry, Olive and Orange. We would love you to play along with us…go on, you know you really want to! Each week’s winner will receive a blinkie and a special little something from the store.

My card for this challenge is very CAS…but it does use a very cute little butterfly from the newly released Whimsy Flowers stamp set. I wanted this little guy to take centre stage.

I coloured in the butterflies with prismacolor pencils (very heavily) and them covered them with glossy accents. The sentiment is from another newly released set called Dotted Flowers.

And while I was at it, I made another card with the same colours, this time using a little flower from the Whimsy Flowers set and the sentiment from the Squared Posies set.

I am loving the look of piercing at the moment as it adds another simple element to the card.

Why not check out what the rest of the DT have created with this colour combo and leave them some love!
