This month I had the privilege of using some Penny Black products and created a card for the PageMaps July card sketch.
In order to follow the sketch, but avoid an overly busy card, I created a lot of subtle textures using some Penny Black stencils. Both the pattern on the butterfly and the chevrons in the background were created by running the stencil through my Cuttlebug with a rubber embossing mat. The blue dots were created with a stencil and coloured embossing paste.
Penny Black products used:
Stencils:
Zigs and Zags stencil 25-010
Hypnotic stencil 25-015
Oscillations Stencil 25-014
Dies:
Flights of Fancy 51-132
Stamps:
Kind Words 30-226
Stamps: Penny Black Kind Words stamp set
Card: X-Press It Blending card, Blue card stock
Ink: Versamark ink, Distress Ink – Salty Ocean
Other Supplies: Various Penny Black stencils (see above list), Hero Arts White embossing Powder, Heat gun, Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste, Palette knife, Pearl, Liquid adhesive, Spellbinders embossing mat.

I recently made this underwater shaker card for the Jane’s Doodle blog using the new Under the Sea stamp set. Lots of fun to make.
Some of the underwater elements are adhered on top of the acetate and some are underneath the acetate, so that the sequins can move around in between.
Well the school holidays are nearly over for me and it’s back to work on Monday. It’s so wet, cold and dreary here – perfect indoor weather for card making!
Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Under the Sea stamp set, Jane’s Doodles Hello Friend stamp set
Card: X-Press It Blending card, Canson water colour paper, White leather grain card stock

Hello! This week I have a canine card up on the Muse Card Club blog.
I’m not a dog person at all, but I recently had a request for some dog themed cards and this is one of the cards that I came up with. The die cuts are in-laid into the focal panel – I love this technique. Even though I am a cat person, I am quite partial to that cute little dachshund right in the middle. My grandparents used to own a dachshund when I was growing up and his name was Fritz. I have fond memories of walking Fritz around the block with his short stubby legs going flat out and his ears flapping in the breeze!
So are you a dog or a cat person, or neither perhaps?
I hope that you can find some time to play along this week. It may not be the dogs that inspire you, but maybe the layout or the colour scheme or the technique. Whatever inspires you I can’t wait to see you link it up over at the Muse Blog.
