Sweetheart Flowers

Yesterday I went in the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge and there was this awesome entry by Therese Calvird which I just fell in love with. I just had to have that stamp in my collection and since it was a digistamp called Sweetheart Flowers I could do just that! Found it at a little online site called Isabella’s Sketchbook.

So thanks to Therese’s inspiration here is my sweetheart flowers card. I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to colour in the flowers and leaves.

Supplies: Regal Craft card (White smooth horizontal fold), Digistamp “Sweetheart Flowers” from Isabella’s Sketchbook, white cardstock, Bazzill card (purple), Creative Memories Oval cutters, Victoria embossing folder, cuttlebug, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, foam dimensionals, “Thinking of you” TLC quik words rub on, gingham ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, corner chomper, Lilac Kaisercraft ink, sponge dauber.

I added some dimension to the card by raising up some of the flowers on 3D foam just like Therese did.

Thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook Boutique September Colour Challenge Second Attempt

Well after a little bit more crafting tonight, I am entering in a second card to the Scrapbook Boutique September Colour Challenge. I wasn’t entirely happy with the first card, so here is another attempt…this time a totally different approach.

Supplies: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), Kaisercraft Small Gerbera stamp, X-Press It White card, Memento Ink Black Tuxedo, Copic markers, foam dimensionals, glossy accents, Kaisercraft patterned paper – La Di Da Collection “Hop” (green stripe), TLC Quik Words ‘Thank you” rub on, Glossy accents.

I added glossy accents to the centre of the flowers (and as you can see in the second photo…it is not quite dry!!). Overall I am happy with the simplicity of this card – but it still uses the challenge colours of lilac, pink, green and white.

Ok, off to bed now.

Scrapbook Boutique September Colour Challenge

Well I have been busy creating tonight…leaving things to the last minute again, but hey, I am a busy mother and have to wait until the kids go to bed to really get in the mode!

Here is my entry to the Scrapbook Boutique September Colour Challenge using the colours lilac, pink, green and white. I had a hard time with this…especially adding in the green! I am not altogether happy with the final result, but I did enjoy using this floral tag digistamp that I recently purchased from Isabella’s Sketchbook.

Supplies: Regal Craft Card (textured single fold), Paper Chic Patterned Paper (pink) by Cristina Re, Paper Chic Patterned Paper (pink stripes) by Cristina Re, Floral Tag digistamp from Isabella’s sketchbook, X-Press It white cardstock, copic markers, Kaisercraft pearls, foam dimensionals, Fiskars scallop border punch, bazzill cardstock (pink), Purple ribbon, Kaisercraft “Get Well Soon” rub on.

I also experimented with making the sentiment have a curved dimension and am happy with the result. The lilac flowers have also been raised to add some dimension.

Thanks for looking.

CASE Study Challenge #7

I have done it…made the deadline just in time for this week’s CASE Study Challenge. I think Mariana’s card is simply perfection.

Anyway here is my take on her card. I just loved it so much I cased the whole thing, just changing the butterfly for some flowers which is a digi stamp from Isabella’s sketchbook.

Supplies: Kraft cardstock, brown Bazzill cardstock, Hero Arts Flourish background stamp, VersaMark Watermark ink, Clear embossing powder, digi stamp “Sweetheart Flowers” (from Isabella’s Sketchbook), Kaisercraft Pearls, Kaisercraft “Thinking of You” rub-on, Foam dimensionals, copic markers, white cardstock, Fiskars scallop border punch.

Thanks for looking and I’d love to hear what you think.

Have a great day,

Giraffe – Baby boy card

This little giraffe is another digital stamp that I bought from Squigglefly. Isn’t he a cutie?? I coloured him in with Derwents and Gamsol. What I love about Squigglefly is not only the cheap digistamps, but they also have examples of how other people have used that stamp. I got my inspiration for the layout of this card from Kerry over at ‘A load of old pickle’. Check her cute little giraffe card here. She has some really cute stuff going on! I love her style of card making!!

Anyway this is my card…

Supplies: Regal Craft card (white textured single fold), 7 Gypsies patterned paper, white cardstock, bazzill cardstock (beige and brown), Squigglefly digistamp – sitting giraffe, derwent pencils, Gamsol, computer font ‘CAC Pinafore’, brown felt pen, glossy accents, Verscolor ink ‘Bark’ and sponge daubers.

I used glossy accents on the bow around his neck to make it stand out a little and give the card some dimension.

Hope you are having a great day. Thanks for stopping by.

Noah’s Ark

I am right into digi stamps at the moment and here is another little cutie that I have come across in my web travels; this time from Squigglefly. My inspiration for the colours and the rolling sea came from Alice Wertz’s take on Noah’s ark which can be found here.

Once again I used Derwent pencils and Gamsol. I used foam dots on the animal’s heads to give the card some dimension and also on the waves at the front. I white embossed the Hero Arts Flourish background stamp for the waves and then rubbed a mix of Atlanta and Sky Blue Versacolor inks over the embossing. Glossy Accents were used on the noses, beak and eyes of the animals. The cloudy background was made with some cloud masks I made and my sponge daubers.

Supplies: Bazzill cardstock (blue to make the card), white cardstock, Noah’s Ark digi stamp from Squigglefly, Derwent pencils, Gamsol, white embossing powder, Versacolor ink (Atlanta and Sky blue for waves and sky), sponge daubers, Hero Arts Flourish background wood mounted stamp, foam dots, Glossy Accents, circle cutters from Creative Memories, twine, Hero Arts alphabet stamps, black felt pen.

And I am really pleased as I have finally purchased some Prismacolor pencils. I have wanted some for a while now but couldn’t justify the cost, but thankfully someone was having a craft room clean out on Ebay and I picked up a relatively unused set of 48 pencils for $40!! BARGAIN!! So now I have loads more colours to play with…..

Until next time,

Marion
