To Infinity and Beyond

This card was a really quick (and small) birthday card I made for a friend’s son who had a birthday last week. I already had the rocket coloured in, so it took less than 5 mins to assemble, which is unheard of for this slow crafter. The rocket stamp/die is from Papertrey Ink and I just can’t get enough of my AnnaBelle Stamps background stamp – BBD#5.

Supplies

Stamps: Papertrey Ink – Boy Basics: Out of this World Stamp set, AnnaBelle Stamps BBD#5

Ink: Memento – Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black Versafine – Onyx Black

Card:  AnnaBelle Stamps smooth white cardstock, Hero Arts folded note cards – Grass

Other Supplies: PTI Rocket Die, Cuttlebug, Copic Markers, Foam dimensionals

Short and sweet today. Thanks for dropping by,

Marion

Celebrate card

Hello! Another Friday, another AnnaBelle Stamps challenge. This week is a sketch challenge. We would love you to play along.

I decided to rotate the sketch a quarter turn to the right. I came across this card by Kelly Rasmussen and I LOVED it…and so the inspiration for my card was born. I had to add the circle element in, so I decided to do some making and distress ink blending on the background to create sun rays. I am really happy with how it turned out.

I used the Shape it Up stamp set to create the dots on the bunting. I even pulled out my neglected sewing machine AND another first in a long time is glitter – to be honest I can’t stand the stuff – I hate how you wear it for days afterwards!! But I needed some extra shine on the card, so went for it!

Don’t forget that Andrea is now offering free digi stamps each month – you can find this month’s freebie here. The Deal of the Week this week (which starts on Friday and will run until the following Friday)  is the Shape it Up stamp set which is 20% off for one week.

I’m entering this card in the Stitching & Sewing Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

A challenge

Today I made some time for me to just have a play! I recently received some new stamping goodies for my b’day…and I have been itching to ink them up. I also wanted to play along with a challenge – and the CASology Leaf Week #14 challenge caught my eye.

I don’t usually stamp images with distress inks (I usually prefer a more crisp stamped image), but I was just playing and came up with this and I quite liked the result for something different. I thought the distressed stamping added some nice detail to the leaves. I have used two of my new Paper Smooches sets – Reflections and Sentiment Sampler.

Supplies

Stamps: Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set, Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler stamp set

Ink: VersaFine – Onyx Black, Distress Inks – Picked Raspberry and Mowed Lawn

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps Smooth White cardstock

Other Supplies: Spellbinders Circle Nesties, Cuttlebug, Spellbinder tan rubber mat

I appreciate you stopping by,

Marion

Little Submarine

Hi!

I had a little chance to get creative tonight. This cute little submarine is from the WaltzingMouse stamp set called ‘Half Pint Heroes’. Super cute or what?

My inspiration for this came from Kathy Racoosin’s card which she created for her colour palette challenge over at Lily Pad Cards. I was immediately drawn to the background and so have interpreted it in my own way.

I am entering this into the Lily Pad Card’s Inspirational Challenge #3 and also JayGee’s Nook Challenge #9 where the inspirational photo is this. Obviously I went with the nautical theme!

I did some masking to create the sea bed (using distress inks) and of course good old Glossy Accents for the port hole. The background was super fiddly but I set myself a challenge and I wasn’t going to let it beat me! I coloured in the submarine with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

Supplies:

Stamps: Waltzing Mouse Stamps – Half Pint Heroes
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Memento – Tuxedo Black, Distress inks – Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Verscolor cubes – Bamboo
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), X-Press It Blending card
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, blending stubs, foam dimensionals, Basic Grey Buttons, Glossy accents, Copic Marker- green, black felt pen, Creative Memories circle cutters, kitchen twine

Thanks for stopping by.

Marion

Update July 11:
This card received a Fantastic Froggin’ Four award at the Inspirational #3 challenge at Lily Pad Cards.
