A few Jane’s Doodles projects

Jane's Doodle Banner

I’m back with several Jane’s Doodles projects that have been on the Jane’s Doodles blog over the past couple of weeks.

First up is a card that uses three stamp JD sets; Winter Wishes, Rain or Shine and Simon. I love creating little scenes and mixing and matching different stamp sets.

Purrfect Birthday – Sunny Studio

I’m back with a really quick and simple technique using some Sunny Studio products. You can see my post here. I used the Furever Friends stamp set and its coordinating dies, which have some really cute cat images.

If you are not confident with colouring images, or like me, was running short on time, then maybe this could be a technique for you to try. Instead of placing the colour onto my images, I created a really vibrant watercolour background with distress inks. I love the contrast.

To get the background to be so vibrant, I added several layers of Distress inks, making sure to heat set between each application. The colours used from the top down were Barn Door, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon, a mixture of Ripe Persimmon and Wild Honey and Mustard Seed.

The black sentiment strip tied the whole project together. I love how it turned out – but my daughter just couldn’t understand why I didn’t colour in the cats!

Merry Christmas tags – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

It’s starting to feel a little bit like Christmas on my blog today, with these fun tags using some Jane’s Doodles stamps. Christmas will be here before we know it, so I am getting in nice and early! These were really quick and easy to make – I think I may need to make some more experimenting with other colours.

This card is a mini card (approximately 3.5 x 4.5 inches). It was actually one card of a set of 6 cards which I made for my daughter’s preschool teacher. I couldn’t help making them in a rainbow of bright colours.

Birthday Kitty @ Muse

Hello. It is my week as the Muse at the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

Today’s card is a simple one with some Copic colouring of a very cute image. It’s a bit hard to tell but the main image is popped up for some dimension. I love cats…I find them so relaxing.

And before I go,  I’ll leave you with some pictures of my beloved kitty cat – Mack. He is a stylish kitty if I do say so myself, but I am biased 🙂

Tag You’re It Challenge #12

It’s time for another Tag You’re It! Challenge.  This week’s inspiration tag is made by the lovely Tracey McNeely.

TYIC_12

I kept my tag simple with white heat embossing on red card stock, but added extra detail with some sparkle. The ‘Merry’ sentiment was coloured with a dark red Copic marker and then some clear Wink of Stella brush glitter pen was added over the top. You can see a tiny bit of sparkle in the photo.
