Jane’s Doodles New Release Blog Hop and a Giveaway

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hello and welcome to a Jane’s Doodles blog hop where the Design team are showcasing Jane’s latest stamp sets called Wild Flowers and Wild. You should have arrived from Kaja’s blog. If you get lost along the way, there is a list of blog hop contributors at the end of this post.

Without further ado, here are the two new stamp sets.

Wild Flowers

Wild

For my first card I stamped the large floral arrangement from the Wild Flowers onto some white card stock. The flowers were coloured with Copic markers. I added some light grey shading and dots around the image to add some subtle interest. The sentiment is from the Thankful stamp set.

Next up is a fun card using the Wild set – which I simply love! This set is going to get a good workout from me, as it is perfect for making cards for my kid’s friends!

I stamped all the images straight onto the die cut out panels and then coloured them with Copics. I had fun experimenting with the various green backgrounds and creating different textures. I was trying to break up all the green. The die cut is a MFT die called Stitched collage frame.

Jane’s Doodles – Celebrate

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hi there! I have a really fun card to share with you using Jane’s Doodles stamps. This card has been CASED from a super cute card made by Vanessa Menhorn – and she kindly allowed me to borrow her design. You can find her amazing card and blog here.

I masked off the background with some washi tape and used several Distress Oxide ink combinations to ink up the 3 rectangles. I then stamped the three critters from the Outdoors set and coloured them with Copics. I then trimmed them off in the right places before foam mounting them onto the background. The sentiment is from the All Occasions stamp set.

Such a cute design and I want to thank Vanessa for allowing me to use it. Be sure to check out her blog and her other amazing cards.

If you want to know anything about any of my cards, just contact me through the email icon on my blog.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time,

You’ve a Star – Penny Black Full Bloom Inspiration #2

Happy Sunday! I’m back today with another cute Penny Black critter from their latest release called Full Bloom. It’s no secret I’m in love with these little bears, and this one I’ve used today has especially won my heart. It’s called …Star and has a coordinating creative die as well.

My daughter loves soccer and this is her second season. I made this card for a friend of hers who plays on the same team, and celebrated her birthday this weekend.

To make something a little different to my standard card, I made a gatefold card. The image was coloured with Copic Markers and the sun and background were created with Distress Oxide inks (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, Squeezed Lemonade and Fossilized Amber).

The #1 die cut on the inside of the card comes in the same …Star cut out die set. The friend sentiment is from the Number 1 stamp set and it is a great set as it has many names which could be substituted such as Dad, Mom, Teacher etc.

The cloud die cut is an older one, but a good one called Silver Linings.

The sun comes with the Friendship cut out die set.

Thanks for your company today. If you want to know about any of the products I have used, just contact me.

Penny Black – Timeless Inspiration #4

Hi! I’m back with the final instalment of my Penny Black Timeless inspiration posts. I have saved some cuteness for this last post.

I have made two cards using the Special Friends stamp set as well as the Butterfly Garden stamp set. I also used the coordinating Special Friends Cut Outs coordinating dies.

I stamped out the four critters from the set and used the coordinating dies to cut them out, along with the sentiment banner. All images were coloured with Copic markers.

To create the foliage underneath the banner, I first drew around the banner lightly in pencil, so that I could position and stamp the greenery in just the right position. I used a mixture of green pigment inks and also a pink pigment ink to stamp the leaves and flowers. I then adhered the sentiment banner with 3D mounting foam tape, and added the critters in last, directly adhering them to the card base.

This second card is exactly the same as the first, but I just changed the animals.

I think they turned out so cute! And one has already made it into the hands of my daughter’s friend for her birthday.

Penny Black – Garden Gems

simplicity sister

Hello! I hope this post finds you well. I am on spring break from school and I AM LOVING IT! Sleeping in, making cards, playing games with the kids…it is so good to stop and unwind from work.

Today I have a card for Penny Black that uses a technique that I have never tried before! I guess it is no-line colouring, but for me it was so good to get out the Prismacolor pencils and blend and play! This wasn’t a quick card to make, but I sure enjoyed the colouring process.

The stamp I used is the Penny Black Garden Gems rubber stamp. I stamped this is VersaFine Smoky Grey ink. The great thing about this stamp is that it shows the shading, so it helps me to know where to put the shadows and highlights.

The sentiment is from the Penny Black Happy Critters stamp set and was white heat embossed onto some grey card stock.

Penny Black products used:
40-591 Penny Black Garden Gems
30-479 Penny Black Happy Critters

Supplies

Stamps: Penny Black Garedn Gems and Happy Critter stamp sets
