Happy Birthday Kitty Cat

simplicity sister

I’m back with a card that I made for my husband for his birthday that was earlier this week. I’m not too good at producing masculine cards, so I went down the cutesy card path instead. Anyway, he liked his card, so that is all that matters right?

I stamped the cat and balloon from the Time to Celebrate stamp set onto a white panel and coloured it with a mixture of Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils. I then masked off the cat and created my own cloud mask and sponged on some clouds using Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans Distress ink. The sentiment is from the Kind Words stamp set (I did a little bit of stamp surgery here). To finish off the card I covered the balloons in Glossy Accents to make them shine.

Happy Birthday Dragon

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hi there! I’m still burning the candle at both ends, but hopefully I’l be able to stop for a breath really soon! I’m popping in really quickly with my latest Jane’s Doodles card. I had some new Jane’s Doodles stamp arrive at my doorstop last week, and I couldn’t wait to play. This one uses the new Magical set. The JD store is closed at the moment while Jane is on a much needed break but make sure you head to the JD blog in the meantime, where a lot of the DT have been playing with this cutie-patootie stamp set. Look at that dragon. Is it the cutest?

Happy Birthday Bunnies – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Hi! I feel like I’ve been a little absent from blogland lately. My Reeder feed is brimming to overflowing with all of your wonderful blog posts that I just haven’t got around to reading! Life and work is just super busy at the moment! I’m sure many of you can relate.

Anyway, I have a couple of Jane’s Doodles projects to share with you. I was on the Jane’s Doodles blog yesterday with some sweet and simple bunny cards. Who doesn’t love a bunny?

These cards use a variety of Jane’s stamp sets. The tone on tone stripes and dots on the base of the cards were stamped with the Stripes and Dots stamp set. The small bunny below is from the Suzi’s Easter set and the balloon is from the Monster’s Squad set.

The big Bunny is from the Spring stamp set and the sentiment comes from the Belated Birthday set (I just did some stamp surgery and took out the word belated). To add some shine, I added Glossy Accents to balloons. All the images were coloured with Copics.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Stripes and Dots, Spring, Suzi’s Easter, Monster Squad, Belated Birthday stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card, Hero Arts layering papers – Grass and Blush

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, Hero Arts inks – Pale Tomato, Green Hills

Other Supplies: Copic markers, Glossy Accents, Fun foam

Unicorns and Rainbows – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

My daughter was invited to a unicorn and rainbow themed birthday party last weekend, so that called for Jane’s Unicorn set.

I started by die cutting a tag from blue cardstock. I then die cut a cloud border die from masking paper and used an ink blending tool and some Salty Ocean Distress ink to create the clouds. Then it was a simple matter of stamping the rainbow and unicorn onto some white card stock and colouring them with Copic markers. After fussy cutting them out, I added several layers of a Wink of Stellar clear glitter brush pen to the rainbow and wings/mane. It is very shimmery in real life, but isn’t captured in the photo. The sentiment is from the Cake! stamp set.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Unicorn and Cake! stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card, Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue

Ink: VersaFine – Onyx Black ink, Memento – Tuxedo Black ink,  Distress ink – Salty Ocean

Other Supplies: Paper Smooches Tag die, Poppy Stamps dies – Puffy Cloud Border, Cuttlebug, Copic markers, Ink blending tool, Inkadinkadoo Masking Paper, Hole Punch, Cotton thread, Wink of Stellar glitter brush pen – Clear

Especially For You – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hi friends! Today I have a card made with some pretty darn cute images from Penny Black. I’ve used the Time to Celebrate stamp set and the sentiment is from the Banners Sentiment set.

To create my scene, I stamped the cute puppy dog in Tuxedo black ink. Then I did some stamp surgery and cut off the balloon from another image in that set and stamped that above his tail. I used a Copic multiliner to draw the balloon string and attached it to the dog’s tail. Then I stamped the bees and the sentiment.

Instead of colouring with Copic markers, which is my go to medium, I decided to get out my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. It certainly was very therapeutic to colour!
