Celebrate

Happy Sunday everyone,

I have had a bit of fun playing around with some stamps that haven’t been inked up often enough. It is my very special friend’s birthday, so I needed an appropriate card.

I have used one of the sketches from the current Hero Arts April challenge (as soon as I saw the sketch I knew I had to do something with it). I also decided to play along with the current CAS-ual Friday’s Opposites Attract Challenge CFC #48 (I have used blue and orange/yellow)  and finally LilyPads Cards have a flower Challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

I had fun making the flower tendrils – I put Glossy Accents on some twine and then wrapped it around a paintbrush until it dried.

Supplies

Stamps: Hero Arts Layered Flowers (CL496), Hero Arts Find Joy (CL497)

Ink: Distress Inks – Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, VersaFine Onyx Black

Card: Regal Craft Card – DL textured (card base cut smaller than a DL size), XPress It Blending card, Acquarello Watercolour paper

Other Supplies: Blending tool, AnnaBelle Stamps 0.8mm twine – white, 3D foam adhesive, Arbee Glue on Jewels – round clear, Kaisercraft gems, Glossy Accents, Vellum, Hero Arts ultra fine clear embossing powder, heat tool, Watercolour brush

Thanks for taking the time to drop by. Until next time,

Marion

Sending warm wishes

Hi,

The end of the school term has FINALLY arrived and I have 2 weeks off! Time to get crafty and I did just that today!

I thought I would enter this into two challenges. Firstly, A Blog Named hero has their first challenge – Challenge #1: Playing Favourites. I have used lots of colours of my favourite coloured folded notes cards from Hero Arts to create the background (LOVE all the colours!). Then to top it off, I dug through my HA supplies and used some favourite background stamps to add some interest. The second challenge is over at the Hero Arts Blog where the theme is Sunshine and Showers. I think my card fits into the theme nicely.

Supplies

Stamps: Hero Arts Flourish Background (CG119), Hero Arts Flower Dot Pattern (CG330), Hero Arts Friend Definition (CG125), Hero Arts Envelope Pattern (S5507), Hero Arts Dots and Flowers (S5213), Hero Arts Flower Wood Background (S5142), Hero Arts All Occasions Messages (CL272)

Ink: Distress Inks – Wild Honey, Chipped Sapphire, Versacolor – Turquoise, Green Tea, Bark, Purple, VersaFine Onyx Black

Card: Hero Arts folded note cards – Hero Hues – Blush, Pool, Floral, Foliage, Sunshine, Sea, AnnaBelle Stamps pre-cut cards

Other Supplies: Die-namics Die – Hearts a Plenty, Cuttlebug, Jane’s Doodles button, AnnaBelle Stamps 0.8mm twine – white, Glue dots, 3D foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Butterfly thanks

Hi ya,

I made this card a couple of weeks ago but didn’t get to post it. I am a little butterfly obsessed at the moment. The sentiment is a Hero Arts one – it is an outline sentiment – but I just coloured it in to make it solid. The patterns on the butterfly are from the Background By Design #7 from AnnaBelle Stamps.

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps BBD#7 stamp set, Hero Arts Find Joy (CL497)
Ink: Distress Inks – Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans – Onyx Black
Card: AnnaBelle Stamps smooth white card,
Other Supplies: AnnaBelle Stamps 0.8mm natural twine, Zots glue dots – small, Kaisercraft rhinestones, Glossy Accents – to adhere butterflies, Martha Stewart classic butterfly punch

Just a quick one from me today,

Thanks for visiting,

Marion

Just for you and Celebrate

Good evening,

Even though we have just had summer here in Australia, I feel that it never really happened – we had such a mild one where I live! At the moment it is pouring with rain and feels more like winter! So I think it is only fitting that I enter the Cure for the Winter Blues Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. And who doesn’t love a blue and white card?

And while I was at it…I also made a green version.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Dots and Flowers (S5213), Hero Arts All Occasion Messages (CL272)
Ink: Distress inks – Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Versafine – Onyx Black
Card: Hero Arts mixed folded cards – Hero Hues – Sea and Foliage, Regal Craft card – textured square
Other Supplies: Ranger white Enamel Accents

Thanks for visiting,

Marion

It’s the little things

Just sharing quickly a card that I made on the weekend using some new (to me) Hero Arts stamps that I purchased recently.

I love Hero Arts pool note cards and that background stamp called Birds and Branches! And thanks to Jess for my button! It was the perfect contrasting colour. I think I may make a set of these in different colours.

I am entering this into the Hero Arts Feb competition. My card fits into 2 categories – it is a friendship card and is a liberal interpretation of the sketch on the right.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Birds and Branches (AR173), Hero Arts Find Joy (CL497)
Ink: Versacolor – turquoise
Card: Hero Arts folded cards – Hero Hues – Blush, XPress-It Blending card
Other Supplies: Fiskars scallop border punch, American Crafts button, AnnaBelle Stamps 0.8mm twine, Glue dots

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Class cards

Just thought I would share some more cards that I made for the CAS class. This first one I made on the very first day of class but never posted it! It is another interpretation of Kristina sketch from Day 1.

I made a mask and then did some sponging to create the cloudy sky. The bunting is coloured in with Copics and then covered with Glossy Accents.

And finally this is a set of cards that I made before Christmas as a gift set for my son’s preschool teacher. Even though it was made before the class, it fits into the CAS card sets as shown by Julie on Day 10. I LOVE card sets and make a lot of them. They make the perfect home made gift. It is a simplified version of this card that I made for the Summer Card Boot Camp.

They are all coloured with Copics and the bee and flower centres are covered with Glossy Accents – of course! I made 2 of each colour combo.
