Floral thanks

Hi! I’m back!

Today I FINALLY got a chance to get creative and make some cards! I have some new stamps that have arrived over the last few weeks and today I christened some. This stamp is one of them. It uses the Hero Arts Tall Flower woodblock stamp. I used Prismacolor pencils to colour in the flower and instead of grabbing the Gamsol (my usual go to) I used a Derwent blending pencil…still some practise is needed! Lots of blending of distress inks on the background with the HA Envelope Pattern stamp lightly over the top.
I am entering this into the current Hero Arts challenge which is to use at least one flower and I also used a coloured pencil technique!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Tall Flower (K5431), Hero Arts Envelope pattern (S5507)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Versa Color – Umber, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw and Dried Marigold
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured DL fold), X-Press It blending card
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, Derwent Blending Pencil, Kaisercraft pearls – pearl, Making Memories Metal ‘Thanks’ tag (which I went over in a black permanent texta), White sheer ribbon, thin green satin ribbon, foam dimensionals, WRMK Corner chomper

Thanks for looking. I hope to have another card to share with you really soon!
Take care,

Marion

Zoo-Licious

I have been having fun playing with my new Recollections stamp set that arrived last week – Zoo-Licious. I am really into cute little animals/creatures designs as they make great birthday cards for kids.
These cards were so easy to make. I am still a beginner when it comes to colouring in with Copic markers, but I am improving – I think! It is also a bit challenging as I am so limited with the number of Copics that I own.

And a close up of the giraffe….with a teeny weeny little bit of Glossy Accents on his spots!! I couldn’t resist.

Supplies:

Stamps: Recollections – Zoo-Licious, Practicing Creativity sentiment – ‘You’re Dandy’
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Memento Ink – Tuxedo Black
Card: X-Press It Blending card
Other Supplies: Copic markers, Glossy Accents, Black felt pen, Googly eyes

So cute or what? Don’t you just love the googly eyes? I do!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Birds gift set

Good evening,

Today I have another card set to share with you – this one I am entering into the Card Sets Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

It uses the Hero Arts ‘Kiss from the Sun” set (I know I am using it AGAIN!).

There are 6 small cards – each say ‘Just a note’, but three have the bird houses and the other three have two birds on a branch. I just had to do matching envelopes as well. I made another folder to house them in – I am becoming a pro at making these and my cards wouldn’t be complete without Glossy Accents!!

Phew…lots of photos there!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts “Kiss from the Sun” (CL439), Hero Arts “Magic of Christmas” (CL 462) (branches), Anita’s docrafts – ‘Just a note’ sentiment
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), Purple Bazzill card (for folder), Purple spotty card (don’t know brand)
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, Glossy Accents, Purple and pink gingham papers (from my scraps), hole punch, black felt pen, WRMK Corner Chomper, white ribbon

Thanks for coming by my little neck of the woods,

Marion

Ladybird thank you set

Good evening fellow crafties,

Today I have a ladybird set to share with you. They are small cards – A6 size…and there are 8 in total with matching envelopes in their own little folder…all thank you cards.
I have been going through my stamp sets and am trying to use some of the stamps that I always overlook and have never or hardly used…and this little ladybird is one of them! It is from the Hero Arts “Antique Engravings” set.
They were so simple to make…stamp, colour with one Copic colour and then Glossy Accents! Simple as! I could easily churn out tons of these if need be.
The folder I made to house them in however, was a little more time consuming and fiddly…but after a few attempts I got there in the end. Thanks to Debby and her great folder tutorial from her blog Lime Doodle and Christina MacLaren’s folder idea from her blog Sea Grass and Sentiments… I am happy with how mine turned out! I adore both of these lady’s creations!!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts “Antique Engravings” (CL383), Hero Arts “Classic Messages” (CL414)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Memento Ink – Tuxedo Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), white Bazzill card, plain red card
Other Supplies: Copic Marker – R14, Glossy Accents, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug embossing folder – Polka dots, black grosgrain ribbon

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Let’s go fly a kite…or two

Good evening!

I am on Easter holidays for 3 weeks…so I hope to have some more time to create and post…but with 2 little kids it can be difficult. I did manage to have a crafty day yesterday and made a few cards. This is one of them… a bright and happy birthday card using Practicing Creativity’s “You’re Dandy” set. It will be great to put into my birthday card stash.

The background started out as a white textured piece of card. I rubbed Broken China distress ink all over it then used the Hero Arts Envelope pattern and stamped that in Broken China over the top. I paper pieced the 2 kites then covered them in Glossy Accents as can be seen below.

Overall a really simple card to make.

Supplies:

Stamps: Practicing Creativity – You’re Dandy, Hero Arts Envelope pattern (S5507)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Broken China, Tumbled Glass
Card: Regal Craft Card (textured white single fold), white card
Other Supplies: Pink and purple patterned paper (no idea of brand – just some scraps I had), foam dimensionals, Glossy Accents, Cotton cooking twine, thin white ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls – snow

Thanks for looking.

Merry Christmas…in April?

…well why not I say!

I bought the Hero Arts “Magic of Christmas” stamp set last year, but it didn’t arrive until after Christmas and I haven’t had a chance to use it much….so I am getting in nice and early for this year! My inspiration for this card came from the very talented Joy Taylor and this was her card. I loved her layout!

I am entering this card into the new Challenge Blog, Lily Pad Cards, where Kathy Racoosin has laid down the following colour challenge.

Quite challenging considering the amount of colours! But alas, here is my Christmas creation.

And here is a close up of the stamp layering…I used a small width foam as I like the subtlety of this. You can’t see it in the photo, but I used perfect pearls on the card. I swiped the distress inks on my acrylic block and then spritzed with perfect pearls water before painting it on the bauble and the leaves with a paint brush. It is nice and shimmery in real life!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts ‘Magic of Christmas’ (CL462), Hero Arts ‘Holiday Messages’ (CL244)
Ink: VersaMark Watermark Ink, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress ink – Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord, Bundled Sage
Card: Regal Craft Card (textured white single fold), white card
Other Supplies: American Crafts black embossing powder, white ribbon – thin width, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, foam dimensionals, Gloss Accents, Perfect pearls, paint brush, mini mister, acrylic block, blending tool

Thanks for looking! (oh and Merry Christmas!)
