Thank you Gerberas

Two posts in one night…I’m on a roll!

I decided to add another entry into The Ribbon Girl’s very first colour challenge using the colours orange, black and white. It is a simple design, but I tried to incorporate as many different shades of orange that I had in my prismacolor pencil collection – believe it or not, they are all shades of orange (even though one looks more yellow!). I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol and added glossy accents to the centre of the flowers though this is hard to see in the photos. The flower are also raised using foam to give the card some dimension.

Supplies: Regal Craft card (white square smooth single fold), Kaisercraft Small Gerbera stamp, white cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, foam dimensionals, glossy accents, black cardtsock (frame), Pebbles Inc “Thank you” rub on.

Thanks and see ya,

Marion

Enjoy Life’s Moments

In my travels through blogworld, I came across two challenges that I thought would be fun to have a go at. Firstly, The Ribbon Girl is having their very first challenge – colour challenge #1, where you need to use the colours orange, black and white. What popped into my head was a lovely sunset scene, so this is what I have endeavoured to do. Hopefully all of us will be able to stop and enjoy life’s simply moments – like a beautiful sunset! I created the sunset background by rubbing the 3 colours onto kraft card and then used my sponge daubers to blend them together.

This card also fits into the current Caardvarks challenge which is to create a clean and simple stamped card….you can’t get more simple than stamping a tree with a sentiment!!

Supplies: Kraft card, Savvy stamp Heart Tree, Versacolor Ink – black, orange, yellow and cardinal, Sentiment “Enjoy Life’s Moments” (not sure which brand – I picked it up really cheap from a discount store), sponge daubers, white DMC thread, white button.

Thanks for looking and I’d love to hear your comments.

Sweetheart Flowers

Yesterday I went in the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge and there was this awesome entry by Therese Calvird which I just fell in love with. I just had to have that stamp in my collection and since it was a digistamp called Sweetheart Flowers I could do just that! Found it at a little online site called Isabella’s Sketchbook.

So thanks to Therese’s inspiration here is my sweetheart flowers card. I used Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol to colour in the flowers and leaves.

Supplies: Regal Craft card (White smooth horizontal fold), Digistamp “Sweetheart Flowers” from Isabella’s Sketchbook, white cardstock, Bazzill card (purple), Creative Memories Oval cutters, Victoria embossing folder, cuttlebug, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, foam dimensionals, “Thinking of you” TLC quik words rub on, gingham ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, corner chomper, Lilac Kaisercraft ink, sponge dauber.

I added some dimension to the card by raising up some of the flowers on 3D foam just like Therese did.

Thanks for stopping by.
