Cute as a button

Hi there,

Today I have a baby card to share with you using distress inks and some of Jane’s Doodles fabulous buttons! I love these buttons and they are highly prized treasures in my collection! The layout is the latest FTL #133.

I am entering this card into 2 challenges – Scrapbook Boutique’s button challenge (where at least 3 buttons are to be used) and JayGee Nook’s Challenge #5 where this is the inspiration photo. I was drawn to the beautiful turquoise, yellow and white.

And here it is…

and a close up of those lovely buttons and embossing…

I created the background by embossing a plain piece of white card with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then using a blending tool and Broken China distress ink, I rubbed over the top and kept rubbing until I was happy with the coverage. I love how the inside of the flowers remained white.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts “Envelope pattern” woodblock stamp (S5507)
Ink: Tim Holtz distress ink – Broken China
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), plain white card
Other Supplies: Cuttlebug embossing folder – Caramelo, Cuttlebug, Jane’s Doodle buttons – pastels, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, turquoise and white ribbon, kitchen twine, Fiskars scallop border punch, computer generated sentiment – “Tinkertoy” font, Tim Holtz blending tool, foam dimensionals, glossy accents (to glue the buttons on with).

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Butterfly gift set

Hi everyone,

Today I have a set of butterfly cards to share with you. If you have followed my blog for a while you will recognise that I have made this card before – in the turquoise colour, but I thought that it needed some friends. I am really happy with the results. They are coloured in with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Beware, there are quite a few photos….

And then one showing all the colours together! Not sure which colour I like best…but I am partial to the turquoise, pink and blue ones!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), turquoise, mustard, pink, dark blue, purple and orange Bazzill card
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Kaisercraft pearls – pearl and snow, TLC Quik words and Kaisercraft rubons.

I love making sets…there is something complete about it! It appeals to my sense of ordered-ness!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Marion

Birthday bunting with a birdie!

Good evening!

Tonight I have a birthday card to share with you that I have made for a little friend of my son who will be turning 3 this week. This is the first card I have made in a while that I can say ‘it just worked out’ and best of all – I like it! It uses the Hero Arts Kiss from the Sun set. So cute and so many possibilities so I can’t wait to keep playing with it!

A close up of the bunting showing the Glossy Accents I put on the dots. I stamped the clouds (from You’re Dandy – Practicing Creativity stamp set) with white ink onto some blue card.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Kiss from the Sun (CL439), Practicing Creativity Designs – You’re Dandy
Ink: VersaMagic – Cloud White, Memento -Tuxedo Black, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), Blue bazzill card, X-press It white blending card
Other Supplies: Copic markers, glossy accents, kitchen twine, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft ‘Happy Birthday’ rub-on, Kaisercraft pearls – snow

I think it makes a cute little birthday card…and it was my husband’s idea to put the birdie on it and it worked out beautifully! Thanks honey!

Have a good night,

Marion
