Inlaid Die Cutting
I decided I needed some ‘me’ time as my hubby is currently overseas for 3.5 weeks, and therefore I enrolled in the latest online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.
Inlaid die cutting was a technique shown on Day 1 – I love this technique (I even did a tutorial on it last year here). For this card I used a Paper Smooches die – Quote tags (I just love the font on this die – it comes with a ‘Thanks’ also) and paired it up with the Memory Box Prim Poppy die to create a completely flat card. I love how it all fits back together like a jigsaw puzzle.
Supplies
Stamps: none
Card: AnnaBelle Stamps Smooth White Cardstock, Canson watercolour paper, Hero Arts layering papers – Grass
Ink: Distress Markers – Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Mowed Lawn
Other Supplies: Paper Smooches ‘Quote Tag’ dies, Memory Box Prim Poppy die, Cuttlebug, Zig Wink of Stella brush marker – clear
Hopefully I will be back soon to share some more cards with you.
Thanks for stopping by,
This is just gorgeous – you used some of my favourite dies. I just love the colour combo too.
Beautiful! I love how you used this die for the technique!
Very cute, elegant and neat. Great use of the technique. I love how the flowers sticks out of the card on one side.
Neat card, really enjoyed your take on the technique covered in class!! 🙂
So lovely, Marion! Keeping buy will help the next 3.5 weeks pass ;oP
Lovely! It is fun to piece it all back together like a puzzle, isn’t it??
This is fabulous! I love the colors and how the flower spills over the side!
I love this card! It’s so sweet!
Yay, I’m on this course too and loved the Day 1 faux effects. Although I’m not so happy with my first attempt…. especially when I look on at your gorgeous example. I guess it’s back to the drawing board for me. See you in class GF, I’m the one at the front telling everyone to ssh… haha.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Marion this is such a lovely card.
Beautiful card! I love this technique and you did a fabulous job with it!
This is such a pretty card! Great work.
What a cool card, Marion. I love how you let the floral die cut hang off the edge just a bit.
What a pretty card. Love the flowers inlaid with the tag. So pretty.
Another gorgeous card, Marion! I love your choice of dies and your coloring is beautiful!
