Iron off Embossing technique

I’m back with some more cards for the online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.

For these cards, I have used a new technique for me – iron off embossing as shown by Jennifer McGuire on Day 5. I tried two different colour schemes. Now if you are a one layer purist, these are not one layer cards, but as I didn’t add the watercolour panel on with any foam dimensionals, it is close enough for me.

And this is the FIRST time I have used sequins on a card. I am not usually a fan of sequins, but I thought they added something to the cards.

  1. Very pretty, Marion! And the sequins add a little extra sparkle. πŸ™‚ I AM a one-layer purist, but have reconciled myself to the “flat card” concept as a part of the one-layer spectrum and have found it rather liberating. πŸ˜‰

  2. These are gorgeous, Marion! The iron-off technique looks so cool….I’m going to have to try that. I love the two color schemes–so pretty!

  3. LOVE your water colour panels, Marion – the effect is gorgeous. I tried and tried to no avail πŸ™ I did complete one project though – not too enamored of it, but it does include the iron off technique too- LOL

Great job with the sequins – the gold contrast looks fabulous!!

  4. I’d actually decided not to try this technique…. too hard, AND it involves turning the iron on, which doubles the pain. But just maybe, after seeing these incredible examples I may just have to bite the bullet, you’ve made it look so easy!

  5. Gorgeous cards! Love the way they turned out – this is one of the techniques from the class I haven’t tried yet.

  6. Lovely cards Marion. Your colour schemes are gorgeous and I’m presuming that you did the water wash over a heat embossed stamp and then ironed the embossing away. (Personally I love the shine of the embossing) An interesting effect. TFS

  7. Gorgeous cards! I love this technique, and you really inspired me. I decide to try this technique and make my own watercolor cards.

  8. Lovely technique.

  9. These are gorgeous!

  10. Lovely cards! I definitely love the watercolor techniques!
