Today I have some very exciting news to share that has been a little while in the aking. Penny Black has put together a new blog called Simplicity at its Best and has asked a group of ladies (to be known as the Simplicity Sisters) to contribute projects to it. I have been asked to be a part of this esteemed group of crafters! WOW! The blog is devoted to creating projects using Penny Black products that are Clean and Simple as the name suggests.

Can you believe it is less than a month until Christmas? Well today I have a new card up on the Jane’s Doodles blog that will hopefully get you thinking about Christmas, if you haven’t already.
I did a little stamp modifying…the snowman does not have a hat in the set, but with a little masking (like Jane showed in a tutorial here), I gave him one. This card has lots of sparkle and glitter and was fun to make.

Maureen Merritt is the the designer this week for the TYI Challenge #11. I love everything about her card, especially the chevron backdrop.

It is pretty obvious where my inspiration came from. I have never made a double tag before, but I quite like it and it certainly adds more interest to the tag. And I just had to get those chevrons in there somehow 🙂

It’s time for another Tag You’re It! Challenge. We had an amazing 44 entries last challenge. You guys rock!

This week we have a very sweet card made by Lynn Put. I just love that gorgeous cluster of pretty flowers!

I fell in love with the softness of her colour scheme and I used her layout, just changed the placement of the sentiment. I switched up the flowers for a butterfly and some vellum leaves. The pink chevrons are embossing paste (coloured with some dye ink).

Hi there,
I have a different kind of project to share with you today. One of my friends recently had a baby and I wanted to make her and her little man Felix, a little something special to go in the nursery. Mama Elephant’s ‘Up and Away’ set came to the rescue again. I cannot get enough of this cute set!

I sponged the clouds by making my own template and using several distress ink colours. The name is made from a really old set of rub-ons that I have had in my stash for at least 10 years. The whole scene was placed in a shadow box that I bought from Ikea (gotta love that shop). I decided to include Mr Squeaky Mouse in the photo, much to the delight of my daughter 🙂

I had so much fun making this, that I think I just may have to make some more!
