Celebrate – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I had a post over on the Jane’s Doodle blog earlier this week and so I wanted to post it here as well. I used the Lily and the Birthday Wishes stamp sets.

I created a watercolour wash on teh background with my Kuretaki Gansai Tambi watercolour paints. Once dry, I white heat embossed the flowers and the sentiment. To add a little more detail, I used a white Prismacolor pencil and shaded the flowers.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Lily and Birthday Wishes stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card

Ink: Versamark ink, Gansai Tambi watercolor paints

Other Supplies: Hero Arts white embossing powder, Anti-static pillow, Heat tool, Fun foam, Broad paintbrush, Prismacolor pencil – white, Derwent Blender pencil

Tweet Hugs – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I have a sweet card to share with you today featuring Jane’s Love Birds set. I simply adore this set! Head over to the Jane’s Doodle blog to see the post there.

I wasn’t sure where I was going with this card, so when I don’t know, I usually just stamp, colour (in this case with Copics) and fussy cut the images. This is what I did with this one. To add some interest to the blue card base, I stamped some hearts from the Love stamp set to create a tone on tone effect – subtle and not too overpowering.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Love Birds and Love stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card, Hero Arts layering papers – Cerulean

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Hero Arts Shadow ink – Pool, Soft Pool, Distress Ink – Salty Ocean

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Fun foam, Lawn Fawn Say Cheese die, Cuttlebug, Ink Blending tool

Hello – Penny Black

Hello! I think Adele’s song was playing on repeat the whole time I made this card, but it’s a good song, and I quite like how the card turned out as well!

I used the Penny Black slapstick/cling stamp called Birthday Tweetings (well part of the stamp) as well as the Chat Bubbles Creative die set.

I stamped and then coloured the phone with Copic markers. I fussy cut the phone, as I didn’t need to bird this time round, although it is a very cute and whimsical image.

The background looked a little plain to me, so I decided to use the Chat Bubble Creative die set and emboss the speech bubbles into the background using an embossing mat in my die cutting machine. I find that this adds more interest to the card, without taking away from the focal image.

I adhered the phone and sentiment with some foam tape and then mounted that onto the card base with more foam. I hand drew the phone cord.
