CASE Study #12

Hi there and thanks for stopping by.

I have made a card to go in the current CASE Study #12 challenge – I haven’t entered one for a while, but when I saw the inspiration card by Barbara, I had to give it a go as her clean and simple card really appealed to my style of card making.

My card is also very clean and simple. I cased Barbara’s layout and also her embossed background. I was going to ink over my embossed background as she had done, but when I saw the simplicity of the white, I kept it at that. Purple is not usually a colour I jump at the opportunity to work with – but I had some purple gingham ribbon that was beckoning me to use it – so hence the purple and white.

Supplies:
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), White cardstock, purple cardstock
Other Supplies: Cuttlebug  embossing folder – Stylized Flowers, Cuttlebug, Purple gingham ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, Kaisercraft ‘Friendship’ rub on from Lilac Avenue Range, Herma Dotto, WRMK Corner Chomper, Zots clear adhesive dots

Hope you like my take on the inspiration card.

Thank you tree

Hi there,

I have been playing around with the Hero Arts Scroll Tree stamp and have some up with this really simple card. It doesn’t show in the photos, but I spritzed the stamp with some Perfect Pearls first – so in real life it has some shimmer to the tree. I don’t usually decorate the inside of the card, but I am entering it into the latest Caardvarks challenge which is to make a card decorated inside and out. The challenge is sponsored by Penny Black.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Scroll Tree, Hero Arts Classic Messages stamp
Ink: Versacolor Ink – Umber
Card: White cardstock, Brown Bazzill
Other Supplies: Kaisercraft pearls – pearl, chocolate, latte, brown ribbon, perfect pearls, mini mister

Until next time,

Marion

Erica the dino

Hi,

Today’s card uses this cute little digi stamp from the Digistamp Boutique called Eric Dino – well actually ‘he’ became a ‘she’ and so I have called her Erica. Cute huh?

I have decided to enter her into two competitions – one over at the Digistamp Boutique in their October Competition and the other at The Papertake Weekly Challenge which I have recently come across. Their challenge is to create a card that incorporates 3 of something into your design – and I have 3 flowers to accompany Little Miss Erica.

Erica was coloured in with Copics and the flowers some Carl Craft daisy punches. I drew the stems and leaves myself. I also have finally bought some thickers as I have seen so many great cards lately using these stickers, so I thought I would give them a go and I like the results!

A close up of her plates, spots and eyes which have Glossy Accents on them but a bit hard to see in the photo).

Supplies:

Stamps: Eric the Dino from DigiStamp Boutique
Ink: Printer
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), White cardstock
Other Supplies: Copics, glossy accents, Carl Craft daisy punch (small and medium- which I punched onto white cardstock and coloured in with copics), Kaisercraft pearls, black felt pen, American Crafts Glossy Letter Thickers – Nutmeg, Weave Extras – Teeny Tiny letter stickers – 8mm black.

Thanks for looking,

Marion

New Arrival

I have been working on a cute little bear card this afternoon and I am really happy with the results. The bear is Bentley Bear designed by Adam Pescott and it came as a freebie set of cling stamps with the Cardmaking and Papercrafts magazine a while back. I had used most of the stamps and posted them here but I didn’t get around to using this little cutie until today. I thought it would be great as a new baby card. Seeing how the colours I have used are pink, white and brown (Bentley is brown) I decided to enter it in as my second card to the Scrapbook Boutique October Colour Challenge as well.

I am really pleased with how the flowers and bow worked out – thanks to Jennifer McGuire’s simple video instruction over at The Hero Arts Blog (it is on the end of her video about inking ribbon). I have also never used lace before – but see it on so many other beautiful cards, I thought it was high time I tried!!

Supplies:

Stamps: Bentley Bear Stamp Set – designed by Adam Pescott
Ink: Versafine Ink (black onyx), Versacolor (petal pink)
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), White cardstock, Pink Bazzill
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, stubbs, brown twine, white ribbon, Kaisercraft white flowers, S.E.I button, DMC pink thread, Wendy Irving “New Arrival” rub on, foam dimensionals, Zots adhesive dots, sponge daubers, white lace, pink gingham paper (not sure which brand), Glossy accents.

So what do you all think?

Scrapbook Boutique October Colour Challenge

Time for another challenge at The Scrapbook Boutique Blog. The colours to use on this challenge were pink, brown and white. Such a lovely combination of colours. My first instinct was to go quite pastel, but the I decided to go the opposite and do bold colours.

For this card I stamped the flower onto Kraft card, heat embossed and then coloured in with prismacolor pencils, blending the colours together with a blending pencil. I am loving the vivid colours of the prismas on Kraft at the moment.

My inspiration came from this beautiful card by Debby over at Lime Doodle….mine didn’t turn out quite as elegant but you can see where my inspiration came from.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Blossoms stamp (4 images)
Ink: Versamark watermark ink, Versacolor Ink (Opera pink) – for scalloped pink card under ribbon
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), Kraft card, White cardstock
Other Supplies: American Crafts black embossing powder, Prismacolor pencils (2 shades of pink), Derwent blending pencil, Kaisercraft pearls, Brown ribbon, Fiskars scallop punch, Zots adhesive dots, Wendy Irving “Thanks” rub on,Foam dimensionals

I used over 30 small white pearls for this card….so I hope you like my pearly design.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you Gerberas

Two posts in one night…I’m on a roll!

I decided to add another entry into The Ribbon Girl’s very first colour challenge using the colours orange, black and white. It is a simple design, but I tried to incorporate as many different shades of orange that I had in my prismacolor pencil collection – believe it or not, they are all shades of orange (even though one looks more yellow!). I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol and added glossy accents to the centre of the flowers though this is hard to see in the photos. The flower are also raised using foam to give the card some dimension.

Supplies: Regal Craft card (white square smooth single fold), Kaisercraft Small Gerbera stamp, white cardstock, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, foam dimensionals, glossy accents, black cardtsock (frame), Pebbles Inc “Thank you” rub on.

Thanks and see ya,

Marion
