Cascade Flower – Penny Black

simplicity sister

I’ve got quite a few posts coming in the next day or so – it is just the way I roll on this blog. Nothing for weeks, and then wham!

Anyway, it’s my turn over on the Penny Black Simplicity at its Best blog today. I’ve got a sneak peek for you below. It uses one of my all time favourite floral images from Penny Black called Cascade Flower. It is such a pretty stamp. Head to the Simplicity Blog for all the details and a full reveal.

Happy Birthday Turtle Tag – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

Good evening! Today I am over on the Jane’s Doodle blog using one of Jane’s latest sets called Belated Birthday. I just love me a turtle and this set also has some great snails as well.

The background is quite textured. I found it in my craft pile of unfinished projects (that pile is quite big mind you!) and it was made with some texture paste coloured with distress ink and a stencil from MFT. I have no idea which colour of Distress ink I used though! I have covered the cake and party hat with some clear Wink of Stella, but it doesn’t show up very well in the photo.

This tag is off to my Dad as it was his birthday last week – and I’m a bit late in getting it to him.

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Belated Birthday and Doodle Flowers II stamp sets

Card: X-Press It blending card, Black card stock

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Distress ink ??

Other Supplies: Copic Markers, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter brush pen, Texture Paste, My Favorite Things stencil – Brick Wall, Palette knife, Foam squares, Paper Smooches Tag die, Cuttlebug, Hole Punch, Uniball White Signo gel pen

Thanks for your company today,

Marion

Thankful For You – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I’m back with a card that was up on the Jane’s Doodle blog earlier this week. I love the simplicity of the white heat embossing on the coloured card stock. I used two teal Prismacolor pencils and a Derwent blender pencil to add some subtle shading. The Jane’s Doodles sets I used are Lily and Thankful. Love them both.

Have you noticed I am also trying something new with my photography set up? I am no professional photographer, but I am loving all the flat stylised card photos I’m seeing around blogland of late, so I thought I would give it a try. I’m also trying out different locations around my new house that has the best natural light! This spot I found was just near my kitchen window. Who knows if I’ll be able to replicate it again next time!

Supplies

Stamps: Jane’s Doodles Lily and Thankful stamp sets

Card: Hero Arts Layering Paper – Pool

Ink: Versamark watermark ink

Other Supplies: Hero Arts white embossing powder, Heat tool, Anti static pillow, Prismacolor pencils (2 shades of teal), Derwent blender pencil

I hope you can get some crafty time in today,

Until next time,

Marion

Love U – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

A couple of days ago I had a Valentine’s card up on the Jane’s Doodle blog, using the Winter Fun stamp set. These reindeer make me smile!

I stamped and then coloured the images with Copic Markers. The banner between the two reindeer is from the Love Birds set, and I hand wrote the sentiment with a Copic Multi liner.

To add some fun details, their noses are coated in Glossy Accents and I added spots to their scarves. I stamped the heart background with some Teal coloured ink, to create a subtle tone-on-tone effect.

Metropolitan Hugs – Penny Black Sneak Peek

simplicity sister

Hello! Long time, no post!

Well it has been a long time between cards and posting and that’s because we moved house. I’ve unpacked 90% of the boxes, so most things are up and functioning again. I’ve also just finished setting up new new craft space, so I hope to get crafting very soon. It’s been over a month since I have made anything!

Anyway, it’s my turn over on the Penny Black Simplicity at its Best blog today. I made this one before the move. Here is a little peek at my card, but you will have to head to the Simplicity blog for the full reveal.

Blue Birds – Penny Black

simplicity sister

Hello – just a quick post to share a serene little scene using a Penny Black die called Layered Scene. This die set actually comes with two dies that can be layered, but I chose to use just one of the layers. I die cut the scene from white card stock and then used my Copic markers to selectively colour in the different areas. I did add some dimension on the birds by using some 3D mounting foam.

It is very rare that I make a card with no sentiment, but I felt this one didn’t need one.
