Friday Feature – Fanciful Flowers

This week at AnnaBelle Stamps, Kylie and I are showcasing the Fanciful Flowers Stamp set.

FF April 14

I kept things simple by white heat embossing onto blue cardstock and adding a pop of colour with a piece of patterned paper down the side.

Masking and Embossing powders

I have a few more cards I want to post before the end of the online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.

CS3_paticipant

I simply loved Cristina Kowalczyk’s card using masking and embossing powders. Very clever indeed. Instead of having a blank space between the different colours of embossing powders, I used a silver glittery embossing powder.

Hello Friend | Marion Vagg

This card was fiddly (and this was the second attempt), so not sure I would do it again in a hurry, but it certainly is a one layer card (except for the red heart). Removing all the masking tape to reveal the final card was fun though.

Hello Friend - detail | Marion Vagg

I’m popping this in the Simon Says Stamp Glitter It Challenge.

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBell Stamps Garden Silhouettes Stamp set

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps smooth white cardstock

Ink: Versamark watermark ink

Other Supplies: Zing embossing powders (Powder, Wave, Aqua), Silver Glittery embossing powder – brand unknown (I’ve had it for about 15 years!!), Heat tool, Washi tape, Eclipse masking tape and Inkadinkadoo masking paper, Martha Stewart Hearts a Plenty punch, Stickles – Christmas red.

I hope to be back soon. Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Iron off Embossing technique

I’m back with some more cards for the online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3.

CS3_paticipant

For these cards, I have used a new technique for me – iron off embossing as shown by Jennifer McGuire on Day 5. I tried two different colour schemes. Now if you are a one layer purist, these are not one layer cards, but as I didn’t add the watercolour panel on with any foam dimensionals, it is close enough for me.

Friend | Marion Vagg

And this is the FIRST time I have used sequins on a card. I am not usually a fan of sequins, but I thought they added something to the cards.

Friend 2 | Marion Vagg

Supplies

Stamps: Hero Arts Live and Laugh Stamp set

Card: Canson watercolour paper, Hero Arts Layering papers – Pool and Carnation

Ink: Versamark watermark ink, Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean

Other Supplies: Hero Arts Ultra fine embossing powder – clear, Heat tool, Eclipse masking tape, Gold sequins

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Colour Challenge @ AnnaBelles

Hello.  A new month means a new monthly challenge AnnaBelle Stamps. Where is this year going? We’re already into Autumn for those of us in the southern hemisphere. Yikes!

ac177

These are not colours I usually gravitate too, but that is why they call it a challenge right? I certainly stepped out of my comfort zone here…and this card includes a few ‘firsts’ for me. Water colouring out of the lines – it was really hard for this perfectionist to do! And secondly, I splattered ink. I have admired others do this for months and finally gave it a go. I just made a puddle of Mustard Seed distress marker and water, loaded up my paint brush, flicked and held my breath – and I love how it turned out!

My inspiration has come from this card by Aga. She often uses a dymo for her sentiments as well, which I don’t own, so I used a sentiment that was similar. I popped it up for some added dimension (but in all reality it was to cover up the first attempt of the sentiment which I botched up 🙂 )

You Make Me Smile @ Muse

Welcome to another week at the Muse Card Club. This week, I was in the mood for a rainbow of colours – we have had lots of rain the past few days so maybe that has influenced me 🙂
