Zoo-Licious

I have been having fun playing with my new Recollections stamp set that arrived last week – Zoo-Licious. I am really into cute little animals/creatures designs as they make great birthday cards for kids.
These cards were so easy to make. I am still a beginner when it comes to colouring in with Copic markers, but I am improving – I think! It is also a bit challenging as I am so limited with the number of Copics that I own.

And a close up of the giraffe….with a teeny weeny little bit of Glossy Accents on his spots!! I couldn’t resist.

Supplies:

Stamps: Recollections – Zoo-Licious, Practicing Creativity sentiment – ‘You’re Dandy’
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Memento Ink – Tuxedo Black
Card: X-Press It Blending card
Other Supplies: Copic markers, Glossy Accents, Black felt pen, Googly eyes

So cute or what? Don’t you just love the googly eyes? I do!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

Happy Birthday Dino

Hi,

I have been playing around with the digi stamp ‘Eric the Dino’ from the DigiStamp Boutique again (in this case I think Eric looks very feminine – so Erica!). Having extra birthday cards around will always be put to good use sooner or later. I am entering this into the DigiStamp Boutique April customer competition.

I put Glossy Accents on the scales and her eyes and also a few spots on the banner – which is a Hero Arts Stamp from my favourite set – ‘Kiss from the Sun’.

Supplies:

Stamps: Eric Dino – Digi stamp from the DigiStamp Boutique, Hero Arts “Kiss from the Sun” (CL439)
Ink: Printer, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), white card
Other Supplies: Kaisercraft patterned paper (can’t find the name sorry!), Copic markers, glossy accents, kitchen twine, foam dimensionals, American Crafts black fabric covered Thickers – Doll, Weave Extras teeny tiny letter stickers – black, Creative Memories circle cutters, Prismacolor Pencils and gamsol (for light blue sky background), stubbs

Until next time,

Marion

Let’s go fly a kite…or two

Good evening!

I am on Easter holidays for 3 weeks…so I hope to have some more time to create and post…but with 2 little kids it can be difficult. I did manage to have a crafty day yesterday and made a few cards. This is one of them… a bright and happy birthday card using Practicing Creativity’s “You’re Dandy” set. It will be great to put into my birthday card stash.

The background started out as a white textured piece of card. I rubbed Broken China distress ink all over it then used the Hero Arts Envelope pattern and stamped that in Broken China over the top. I paper pieced the 2 kites then covered them in Glossy Accents as can be seen below.

Overall a really simple card to make.

Supplies:

Stamps: Practicing Creativity – You’re Dandy, Hero Arts Envelope pattern (S5507)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Broken China, Tumbled Glass
Card: Regal Craft Card (textured white single fold), white card
Other Supplies: Pink and purple patterned paper (no idea of brand – just some scraps I had), foam dimensionals, Glossy Accents, Cotton cooking twine, thin white ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls – snow

Thanks for looking.

Inspired by….Jill (Flower gift set)

Hi everyone,

It is such a beautiful autumn day here today…and I have another gift set to share with you.
It is my very good friend’s birthday today and she just loves my gift sets, so I made an extra special one for her….it has taken me hours, but I am happy with the result! It uses the Hero Arts Stencils Flower cling stamp and the HA Envelope Pattern Woodblock stamp.
I am entering it into Joy Taylor’s inspired by challenge over at her blog, Less is More, where we have to create a project inspired by someone in the crafting world. Well I took my inspiration from the very talented Jill Foster. She is THE master at taking plain white card and turning it into a colourful masterpiece! This is her lovely card where my inspiration came from.

And here are my versions….yes there are quite a few photos!!

And one of them all together (sorry about the photo)

And to top it off I found a snazzy little box from my local Newsagent that they fit into perfectly!!

Phew….that’s it! As you can see I even tried Jill’s water splattering technique that she uses so often on her cards.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Stencil Flower cling stamp (CG194), Hero Arts Envelope Pattern Woodblock stamp (S5507)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Vintage Sepia, Tim Holtz Distress inks – Barn Door, Fired Brick, Dried Marigold, Borken China, Scattered Straw, Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick and Old Paper
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square textured single fold), X-Press-It Blending Card, White card
Other Supplies: Uniball white gel pen, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft and TLC Quick Words rubons, Kaisercraft pearls – pearl, TH foam blending tool

Thanks for taking the time to look and ploughing through my mammoth post!

Butterfly gift set

Hi everyone,

Today I have a set of butterfly cards to share with you. If you have followed my blog for a while you will recognise that I have made this card before – in the turquoise colour, but I thought that it needed some friends. I am really happy with the results. They are coloured in with prismacolor pencils and gamsol. Beware, there are quite a few photos….

And then one showing all the colours together! Not sure which colour I like best…but I am partial to the turquoise, pink and blue ones!

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), turquoise, mustard, pink, dark blue, purple and orange Bazzill card
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Kaisercraft pearls – pearl and snow, TLC Quik words and Kaisercraft rubons.

I love making sets…there is something complete about it! It appeals to my sense of ordered-ness!

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Marion
