Happy Home – Sunny Studio

I’m back with another card using Sunny Studio stamps.

This week the Design Team have been using the Happy Home stamp set. I stamped a row of houses onto some X-press It Blending card and then coloured them with Copic Markers. I fussy cut around the images to create a panel of houses. I sponged in a blue background with Salty Ocean distress ink and then popped up the front panel with some foam squares.

Love and Hugs – Sunny Studio

I’m back today with some cards using Sunny Studio stamps and dies. You can find my post here on the Sunny Studio blog.

This week the Design Team have been using the Birthday Smiles stamp set and the Fishtail Banner dies.

First up I have created a watercolour-y ice cream scene that just reminds me of summer. I white heat embossed the images and then coloured them with Distress inks and a paintbrush.

It’s a bit hard to tell, but the scoops of ice-cream are all shimmery from a coat of clear Wink of Stella brush glitter pen.

Next up, is a graphic card design using the Fishtail Banner dies. I just love the stitched banner die – it is one of 4 designs to choose from in the set. Both the Hugs and the Love sentiments are from the Furever Friends die set, as are the heart accents.

Purrfect Birthday – Sunny Studio

I’m back with a really quick and simple technique using some Sunny Studio products. You can see my post here. I used the Furever Friends stamp set and its coordinating dies, which have some really cute cat images.

If you are not confident with colouring images, or like me, was running short on time, then maybe this could be a technique for you to try. Instead of placing the colour onto my images, I created a really vibrant watercolour background with distress inks. I love the contrast.

To get the background to be so vibrant, I added several layers of Distress inks, making sure to heat set between each application. The colours used from the top down were Barn Door, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon, a mixture of Ripe Persimmon and Wild Honey and Mustard Seed.

The black sentiment strip tied the whole project together. I love how it turned out – but my daughter just couldn’t understand why I didn’t colour in the cats!

Thankful For You – Sunny Studio

Hello. I hope you are having a great week. Today I’m sharing some tags that are up on the Sunny Studios Blog using the Harvest Happiness stamp set and the coordinating dies.

I love making tags as they are quick and easy projects. We don’t have Thanksgiving in Australia, but I love the idea of taking time out to be thankful for the many blessings in our lives. Tags are a really simple way to say thank you and easy to attach to gifts such as a bunch of flowers or a treat bag filled with yummy goodness. Let’s face it, we all like being thanked!

SS Thankful for You | Marion Vagg

The first two tags are very similar, except the first one has a blue watercolour wash around the wreath (Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink). I started the tags by water colouring a panel of Strathmore watercolour paper with different colours of distress ink (Festive Berries, Mustard Seed and Ripe Persimmon). Once dry, I used the small leaf dies from the Harvest Happiness die set, and ran them through my die cutting machine several times.

To create the wreaths, I drew a circle in pencil to act as a guide (head to the Sunny Studio blog where I show a photo of this). Before adhering the leaves into position, I stamped the sentiment.

I added some gems to the second wreath to add some shine.

This last tag was created using the negative die cut panel from the first two tags. I did have to die cut a whole lot of white leaves which I then inlaid into the panel. It was good to make a third tag with the scraps from the first two!

Teacher Thank You – Sunny Studio

If you are looking for the Jane’s Doodles Blog Hop, go here.

Today I’m popping in with a card and tag that is up on the Sunny Studios Blog using the School Time stamp set. Being a teacher myself I know that little cards and gifts are very much appreciated, as it is certainly not just a 9-3 job.

SS Teacher Thank You | Marion Vagg

I found these little treat tubes at my local discount store and they were perfect to put large Jaffas in (orange flavoured chocolate if you hadn’t heard of these before – one of my favs). I love the shiny apples – some Wink of Stella brush glitter pen and a coat of Glossy Accents.
