Shaker tag – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner
I am feeling somewhat under the weather at the moment, so not much creativity has been happening of late – just a lot of coughing and sniffling. But a couple of weeks ago I did manage to create my very first shaker project – a tag! I have been watching and admiring this trend for probably over a year now – and not being one to jump into things too quickly, I decided it was FINALLY time to give it a try. After all the videos I’ve watch on shaker construction, one would think I would be able do it first time round, but it still took me 3 goes to get it right. But I do think it is a lot of fun! My daughter gave it the nod of approval and was very happy to claim my reject attempts.

And I just realised that I never posted my last Jane’s Doodles tag using the adorable Seamus stamp set. This guy makes me smile. I think the guy in the top left certainly does have crazy eyes as Jane mentioned in the post πŸ˜‰ Crazy in love maybe?

Fox bookmark – Jane’s Doodles

Jane's Doodle Banner

I’ve been a little absent from blogland of late as I am currently on holidays with my family in Queensland. We have had a lot of fun in the sun today – the highlights being the kayaks and the catamarans. My 8 year old son has picked up kayaking so easily – he is a natural! We are off to my sister-in-laws wedding tomorrow where my daughter is a flower girl. Fun times!

Anyway, last week I had a project up on the Jane’s Doodles blog. A cute little fox from the Hello Friend stamp set and the sentiment is from the Read All About it stamp set. I had a lot of fun colouring this little guy in and felt that it didn’t need anything else so kept it very simple.

Say it with…

Hello! The last two weeks have been so hectic for me – I completely missed all the festivities of World Card Making Day and have fallen so far behind on blog reading (not to mention commenting). Hopefully life can calm down a little – but in reality not likely with school starting back this week and a number of other everyday happenings piling up! Anyway, I am digressing! Glad that you could join me for another challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps.

This week’s colour combo was certainly a challenge for me (I tend towards bright colours) so I had to tone down for this week. All the Belles have used the Tomorrow’s Dream stamp set, but all you need to do is use the colour combo.

I’m not to good when it comes to colouring hair and face – but I took the plunge and had a go using Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. I created the bookmark cut out by ‘stretching’ a tag die I own…a very nifty little technique that I learnt recently. I will share soon how I did this.

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Tomorrow’s Dream stamp set

Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Versafine – Onyx Black, Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Distress Markers – Peeled Paint, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps Smooth White card stock

Other Supplies: Hero Arts Long and Cute Tags – Frame cut die, Cuttlebug, Paper Palette – Tassels, Watercolour brush, Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, Blending stubs, Hole punch

This week’s winner will receive a $10 Gift Voucher to the AnnaBelle Store. Be sure to check out the rest of the Belles projects – their links are on my sidebar. We also have a Guest Designer for the month of October – Karin Akesdotter. Make sure you stop by her blog as well.

I’ll be back at 4pm (Australia EST) for a blog hop…hope to see you then.

Marion

Robot Bookmark

Today we went to a birthday party, so I needed something that was suitable for a 4 year old. I won a set of robot stamps last year from The Stamps of Life and I haven’t really inked them up until now. My aim was to make a personalised card, but it ended up as a bookmark! It is funny how things turn out sometimes.

I am entering this into the current Simon Says Stamp Chipboard Challenge over at Lilypad cards. I used chipboard fabric Thickers letters to personalise the bookmark – and covered them with glossy accents to add a bit of shine.

And to wrap the present, I stamped robots onto some paper and and my 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter coloured them in. They had so much fun!

Supplies:

Stamps: The Stamps of Life “robots2build” by Stephanie Barnard
Ink: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Distress inks – Chipped Sapphire, Faded Jeans, Weathered Wood
Card: X-Press It Blending card, Bazzill card – Navy Blue
Other Supplies: Copic markers, American crafts Thickers chipboard fabric letters, Glossy Accents, Kaisercraft turquoise ribbon, AnnaBelle Stamps Natural cotton thread, Basic Grey button – blue, foam dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion
