Wise Owl

First up I created a colourful cluster of flowers, that were coloured with Copics and then given a coating of Wink of Stella brush glitter pen.

Next I made a fun bookmark for my son, once again colouring with Copics. The apple is coated in Glossy Accents.I heart books | Marion Vagg

And finally I water coloured the Wise Owl with Distress ink and made a tag. On the back it says “This book belongs to…” I couldn’t resist the googly eyes.Wise Owl | Marion Vagg

Stretch Your Stamps cards

I was really inspired by Laurie Willison’s card in the online card class Online Card Class – Stretch Your Stamps 2, on Day 10. Laurie’s clean and simple design really appealed to me, so I thought I would give it a try. My hubby’s comment was ‘that’s a classy card’, so it has the thumbs up from him too. Thanks for your inspiration Laurie. I used the Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set.

Happy Birthday | Marion Vagg

And while I had the same stamp set out, I thought I would do a slightly different version.

Hello | Marion Vagg

The sentiment is white card stock covered with the clear Wink of Stella glitter brush pen then I covered the whole thing in Glossy Accents.

Just for you @ Muse

Hello. I’m up again at the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

For my card, I wanted to incorporate two of my crafting ‘loves’, and they are stamping and die cutting. The background was stamped using the Mama Elephant Modern Borders stamp set, in a gorgeous array of summery colours ๐Ÿ™‚ (For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere, it won’t be long until those long summer days will be with us again). The butterfly is a My Favorite Things die.

Just for You | Marion Vagg

There are actually 3 vellum butterflies stacked on top of each other to add some interest and dimension.

Tag You’re It – Challenge #4

It has been fabulous to see the huge participation in the Tag You’re It! Challenge. Keep them rolling in!

This week is a little different for me – as I got to be inspired by my own card! I’ve never done this before, but I found it quite fun!

TYIC_4

I took my inspiration from the shape of the card, the colours I used on the card and also using the inlaid die cut technique. However this time I wanted also incorporate a new technique that I have picked up from Day 6 of the latest Online Card Class – Stretch Your Stamps 2, shown to us by none other than my fellow TYI team mate – Donna Mikasa. Thanks Donna for your continual inspiration ๐Ÿ™‚

I white heat embossed the flowers then inked heavily with Distress Inks. Using a cotton bud dipped in water, I went over the flowers to reactivate the ink before dabbing it away with a tissue – removing the colour. Genius! I love the result.
