Birthday bunting with a birdie!

Good evening!

Tonight I have a birthday card to share with you that I have made for a little friend of my son who will be turning 3 this week. This is the first card I have made in a while that I can say ‘it just worked out’ and best of all – I like it! It uses the Hero Arts Kiss from the Sun set. So cute and so many possibilities so I can’t wait to keep playing with it!

A close up of the bunting showing the Glossy Accents I put on the dots. I stamped the clouds (from You’re Dandy – Practicing Creativity stamp set) with white ink onto some blue card.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Kiss from the Sun (CL439), Practicing Creativity Designs – You’re Dandy
Ink: VersaMagic – Cloud White, Memento -Tuxedo Black, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), Blue bazzill card, X-press It white blending card
Other Supplies: Copic markers, glossy accents, kitchen twine, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft ‘Happy Birthday’ rub-on, Kaisercraft pearls – snow

I think it makes a cute little birthday card…and it was my husband’s idea to put the birdie on it and it worked out beautifully! Thanks honey!

Have a good night,

Marion

Saddle Stitch Flower

Not sure about you, but when I come across a card that I really like, I make note of it and its URL so that I have a list of inspirational cards that I can turn to.

Well this is one of those cards that I just adore… and it comes from one of my all time favourite card makers – Laurie Willison. You should check out her blog – Soapbox Creations.

She made this card a while back and posted this video on how she made her flower out of saddle stitch ribbon – so I gave it a go and it was so simple to do. I had fun completely casing her whole design actually.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Flowing Flowers and Leaves Cling stamp, Hero Arts Blossoms Cling stamp set
Ink: VersaColor – Cardinal, Aged Paper distress ink, VersaMark Watermark Ink
Card: Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), White card, Pale green Bazzill card – 2 shades
Other Supplies: Red saddle stitch ribbon, Nestabilities -Labels 4, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Computer generated font – CAC Pinafore printed in grey, Zots 3D dots, sponge dauber, white uniball gel pen

So another personalised 60th birthday card made for a friend.

Thanks for taking the time to read and have a look.

Until next time,

Marion

Birthday Dandelions

Hello there fellow crafty people,

Today I am sharing a card that a colleague of mine asked me to make for her, for a male friend named Cliff who is turning 60. I needed some inspiration as man cards are not my forte, and then into my inbox popped this lovely card from Therese and this was all the inspiration I needed….thanks Therese!!

This is also the first card I have made using my first ever set of nesties – I know – a bit behind the eight ball, but I am in love with them! I want more!! The dandelions are from a set called ‘Just Dandy’ from Practicing Creativity and are white embossed.

A close up of the embossing.

Supplies:

Stamps: Practicing Creativity – Just Dandy
Ink: VersaMark Watermark Ink
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), Turquoise Bazzill card – 2 shades
Other Supplies: Nestabilities -Labels 4, American Craft White embossing powder, heat gun, white DMC thread, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Computer generated font – Segoe Script printed in grey, white striped paper from Fashion Textures Creative Stationery.

This card took many attempts to get to this finished product but I am pleased with how it turned out. Originally I clear embossed the dandelions but they didn’t stand out enough on the card.

Thanks for looking. I have another 60th b’day card to share with you soon.

Birthday tricycle and wagon

Hey there,

It is my son’s 4th birthday tomorrow and this is the card that I have made for him. I can’t believe my baby is turning 4!

I am LOVING my new Practicing Creativity Designs stamp set, The Whole Cycle, that I won over at Jay Gee’s Nook blog. (Check out Judith’s new challenge here). This set was perfect for creating a special little card for my special little man! The quality of these stamps is fabulous and they stamp so smoothly and easily! I love PC so much I have ordered another set which should arrive soon :).

I had to use glossy accents on the tricycle and the wagon and to give the presents some sparkle I used some Kindy Glitz.

Supplies:

Stamps: Practicing Creativity – The Whole Cycle, Kaisercraft Occasions sentiment stamp
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, VersaColor – Bamboo
Card: Kraft card, 2 different shades of green bazzill, white card
Other Supplies:
Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, stubbs, foam dimensionals,  glossy accents, Kindy Glitz – Crystalina, S.E.I. Simple Set Buttons ‘Serendipity’, Cotton Twine (cooking).

Well little man…I hope you are feeling better tomorrow for your birthday – he has been running some really high temps the last few days 🙁

Love you my big man.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

3, 2, 1…blast off!

Hi,

This is a cute little birthday card that I made with a digi stamp (called Blast Off) from the Digistamp Boutique. Great for a little boy! Once again I coloured it in with prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The stars are little brads that I have had in my collection for years – I once was a huge brad fan but not so much now, but I thought the card looked bare without them.

I used Glossy Accents on the windows and raised up the rocket with some foam to add some dimension.

Supplies:

Stamps: Blast Off Digi stamp from the Digistamp Boutique.
Ink: Printer
Card: Regal Craft Card (square white single fold), white card
Other Supplies:
Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, stubbs, small silver star brads, foam, American Crafts Glossy Letter Thickers – Nutmeg, Weave Extras – Teeny Tiny letter stickers – 8mm black, felt pen, rule

See ya,

Marion

Invitation bookmarks

Hi everyone,

I have been soooo busy, hence no time for blogging or for that matter crafting! My Mum has just been down for a week (which was lovely) and I have had a few casual days teaching at my school so that is why I have been MIA! However I have rectified that problem now and have something to show you.

It is my son’s 4th birthday in about 2 weeks and his birthday invites have been weighing on my mind, so yesterday I just sat down and made them all! I decided to do a bookmark with the invitation stuck on the back which can easily be removed so each child has a bookmark with their name on it to keep! Clever huh?  My son loves this little car stamp from Kaisercraft and I had fun making them applicable for both the boys and girls we are inviting to his party.

The cars are coloured in with either copics or prismacolor pencils (as my copic supply is quite limited) and all are raised slightly on 3D foam. The cars have glossy accents on the spots and windows and I used glossy accents on the bunting which I made with scraps of paper.

It was quite hard taking a decent photo of them all so this is the best I could come up with.

And just a close up of each side of the invitation.

And I blurred out a few of the details for privacy reasons.

Supplies:

Stamps: Kaisercraft – small car wooden stamp, Playful Serie – Scrappy Cat alphabet stamps
Ink: Versacolor Ink – Onyx Black
Card:
White card, Bazzill card for bookmark – a variety of colours from my stash
Other Supplies: Copic Markers, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, ribbon – different colours and widths from my stash, various design paper scraps (for bunting), foam dimensionals, glossy accents, felt pen, ruler, printer, white paper, double sided sticky tape

Well the busy season is definitely about to hit full throttle! My son is turning 4 on December the 8th, my daughter is turning 1 on Christmas Eve, Christmas shopping and wrapping and card making  to do, a wedding anniversary in there as well and to top it off we have having Christmas with my brother and sister-in-law who live 1200kms away! I booked my flights today…but my hubby and son are driving!! Got to love this time of the year!!

Until next time,

Marion
