Christmas in July at AnnaBelle Stamps

Hi! Andrea has all the Christmas sets at the AnnaBelle Stamp’s store reduced by 30% for the month of July! What a great discount. Why not go and stock up?

ff_july2014

For today’s Friday Feature, the Belles have been busy making Christmas cards. I created my own patterned paper by repeatedly stamping the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Holly Jolly Stamp set. I white heat embossed the baubles from the Ornamental Christmas set onto vellum and added some clear Wink of Stella glitter pen for some shimmer. I popped up the baubles with some mounting foam and in order to conceal the adhesive, I cut it the same shape as the inner part of the bauble.

And just before I go, my family and I had the privilege of accompanying my husband to the USA on a business trip this past few weeks. We spent one week in Florida and the other in California. When in San Francisco we hired bikes and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge. I must admit I was unprepared for the cold weather in San Francisco!

And no trip would be complete without a visit to Disneyland. Here is my daughter finally getting to meet one of her favourite Disney characters.

New challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps

I’m back with a new sketch for the AnnaBelle Stamps monthly challenge.

ac180

Today I’ve created a fun water coloured boat scene. Perfect for a little boy’s birthday. The boat is from the Boy’s Party Stamp set and the sentiment is from the Beside the Sea Stamp set. I had fun getting very inky with this one.

Faux Hand Painting

I’m back with another card for the Online card class – Watercolor for Cardmakers.

WC_participant

I have been totally inspired and simply blown away by both of Dawn Woleslagle’s watercolouring techniques shown on Day 7 and 8 of class. I hadn’t thought to do this technique, but since watching, I can’t stop. I’m addicted! I stamped the images in Distress ink and then I painted over the top with water. I had fun and I felt like a real painter!

Watercolour Hello

Hello…remember me? I know its been a long time. There have been several reasons for my absence, but mostly I just needed a break from card making. Ever been there?

Anyway, I am currently taking the Online card class – Watercolor for Cardmakers and I made a card!

WC_participant

For this card I created a watercoloured background using distress markers. Firstly I heat embossed the background stamp in white embossing powder and then roughly coloured the image in with Distress Markers. I then spritzed the panel with water and watched the colours blend.

Once dry I cut out the letters and inlaid them back in to create a flush image.
