Inlaid Die Cutting

I decided I needed some ‘me’ time as my hubby is currently overseas for 3.5 weeks, and therefore I enrolled in the latest online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3. CS3_paticipant

Inlaid die cutting was a technique shown on Day 1 – I love this technique (I even did a tutorial on it last year here). For this card I used a Paper Smooches die – Quote tags (I just love the font on this die – it comes with a ‘Thanks’ also) and paired it up with the Memory Box Prim Poppy die to create a completely flat card. I love how it all fits back together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Hoot Hoot

I am back with another card for the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

This week I wanted to do something a little different – so I have made a shaped card. I purchased a cute Sizzix Big Owl #2 die from a craft expo that I recently went to – and I love it! (Therese – I’ve finally used it!)

Hey There – Muse

I am back with another card for the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

I have a very CAS card for you this week.

To create the ombre background I used Copic markers and kept blending the colours together until I had a smooth gradient (see the supplies for the colours I used). I then die cut the word ‘hey’ and used the negative space. The ‘there’ is white heat embossed.

Vellum is the star

Another card for the  Online Card Class – His and Hers. I actually made this earlier in the week, but wasn’t quite sure if I liked it…

HH_participant

This was inspired by uber talented Cristina Kowalczyk and her vellum creations on Day 2. I never did get around to making a female version as I ran out of time – but I was thinking almost identical to this but with hearts and using shades of pink.

I actually had this blue and teal vellum in my stash (it must be at least 10 years old!). Vellum is not the easiest of materials to work with – especially concealing the adhesive! I find scattering elements on a card quite difficult – there certainly is an art to it.

Happy Birthday vellum

Friend

Hi,
I am back again today sharing another card at the Muse Card Club.

muse_logo

This week I have a card using some of my favourite colours – teals and blues. I created the background by cutting strips in varying widths and adhering them to a panel. I then white embossed my images over the top. The small dots are white enamel accents.
