Birthday tricycle and wagon

Hey there,

It is my son’s 4th birthday tomorrow and this is the card that I have made for him. I can’t believe my baby is turning 4!

I am LOVING my new Practicing Creativity Designs stamp set, The Whole Cycle, that I won over at Jay Gee’s Nook blog. (Check out Judith’s new challenge here). This set was perfect for creating a special little card for my special little man! The quality of these stamps is fabulous and they stamp so smoothly and easily! I love PC so much I have ordered another set which should arrive soon :).

I had to use glossy accents on the tricycle and the wagon and to give the presents some sparkle I used some Kindy Glitz.

Supplies:

Stamps: Practicing Creativity – The Whole Cycle, Kaisercraft Occasions sentiment stamp
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, VersaColor – Bamboo
Card: Kraft card, 2 different shades of green bazzill, white card
Other Supplies:
Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, stubbs, foam dimensionals,  glossy accents, Kindy Glitz – Crystalina, S.E.I. Simple Set Buttons ‘Serendipity’, Cotton Twine (cooking).

Well little man…I hope you are feeling better tomorrow for your birthday – he has been running some really high temps the last few days 🙁

Love you my big man.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

3, 2, 1…blast off!

Hi,

This is a cute little birthday card that I made with a digi stamp (called Blast Off) from the Digistamp Boutique. Great for a little boy! Once again I coloured it in with prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The stars are little brads that I have had in my collection for years – I once was a huge brad fan but not so much now, but I thought the card looked bare without them.

I used Glossy Accents on the windows and raised up the rocket with some foam to add some dimension.

Supplies:

Stamps: Blast Off Digi stamp from the Digistamp Boutique.
Ink: Printer
Card: Regal Craft Card (square white single fold), white card
Other Supplies:
Prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, stubbs, small silver star brads, foam, American Crafts Glossy Letter Thickers – Nutmeg, Weave Extras – Teeny Tiny letter stickers – 8mm black, felt pen, rule

See ya,

Marion

Invitation bookmarks

Hi everyone,

I have been soooo busy, hence no time for blogging or for that matter crafting! My Mum has just been down for a week (which was lovely) and I have had a few casual days teaching at my school so that is why I have been MIA! However I have rectified that problem now and have something to show you.

It is my son’s 4th birthday in about 2 weeks and his birthday invites have been weighing on my mind, so yesterday I just sat down and made them all! I decided to do a bookmark with the invitation stuck on the back which can easily be removed so each child has a bookmark with their name on it to keep! Clever huh?  My son loves this little car stamp from Kaisercraft and I had fun making them applicable for both the boys and girls we are inviting to his party.

The cars are coloured in with either copics or prismacolor pencils (as my copic supply is quite limited) and all are raised slightly on 3D foam. The cars have glossy accents on the spots and windows and I used glossy accents on the bunting which I made with scraps of paper.

It was quite hard taking a decent photo of them all so this is the best I could come up with.

And just a close up of each side of the invitation.

And I blurred out a few of the details for privacy reasons.

Supplies:

Stamps: Kaisercraft – small car wooden stamp, Playful Serie – Scrappy Cat alphabet stamps
Ink: Versacolor Ink – Onyx Black
Card:
White card, Bazzill card for bookmark – a variety of colours from my stash
Other Supplies: Copic Markers, prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, ribbon – different colours and widths from my stash, various design paper scraps (for bunting), foam dimensionals, glossy accents, felt pen, ruler, printer, white paper, double sided sticky tape

Well the busy season is definitely about to hit full throttle! My son is turning 4 on December the 8th, my daughter is turning 1 on Christmas Eve, Christmas shopping and wrapping and card making  to do, a wedding anniversary in there as well and to top it off we have having Christmas with my brother and sister-in-law who live 1200kms away! I booked my flights today…but my hubby and son are driving!! Got to love this time of the year!!

Until next time,

Marion

Butterflies

Hello there fellow paper lovers!

Well I think I am on a roll using the Hero Arts butterfly stamp from the Antique Engravings set. I love this little guy as it is so realistic looking and I love blending colours with my prismacolors and gamsol.

I have used the sketch from the current FTL #114 (and isn’t it a beauty!).

I am also entering the blue butterfly card into a new challenge over at JayGee’s Nook where the inspiration photo is this. I got my inspiration from the  gorgeous blue/turquoise colours!!

And here is it….

And just to be different from the blue butterfly card, I am entering the pink version into the Scrapbook Boutique Butterfly challenge where at least 2 butterflies need to be used in a design.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold)
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Kaisercraft pearls, Wendy Irving ‘Hello’ and ‘Sending you a smile’ rub ons.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Welcome Sweet Baby

Hi,

Just sharing another little baby card that I made a couple of weeks ago using the sitting giraffe digistamp from Squigglefly. Once again I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The sentiment was computer generated.

You can see the glossy accents a bit better in this photo on the bow.

Supplies:

Stamps: Digistamp ‘Sitting Giraffe’ from squigglefly
Ink: Printer
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), White cardstock, purple Bazzill, purple embossed card (not sure which brand)
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Glossy accents (on bow), White Kaisercraft flowers, S.E.I. buttons, thin white ribbon, herma dotto, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft pearls, Computer font “CAC Pinafore”.

Hope you are having a great day! Very wet here!

Until next time,

Marion

Thank you butterflies

Hi there,

I have made a card for the Clean and Simple Stamping challenge – Fall to layout #113. The challenge is to use the following sketch.

Well I thought it would be really easy to get something happening – but it has been sooooo frustrating!! Nothing was coming together last night! But alas, after some sleep, a tidy up of my craft area and some peace and quiet, I managed to come up with the following – and I am quite happy with the results. I think I was trying to be too clever last night whereas I should have just stuck with clean and simple all along!!

I coloured in the butterflies with 3 shades of turquoise and then used gamsol. The white card is actually textured but this is a bit hard to see in the photos.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white textured single fold), Turquoise Bazzill card
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Kaisercraft pearls, TLC Quik words “thank you” rub on.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Marion
