Inlaid Die Cutting

I decided I needed some ‘me’ time as my hubby is currently overseas for 3.5 weeks, and therefore I enrolled in the latest online card class – Clean and Simple Card making 3. CS3_paticipant

Inlaid die cutting was a technique shown on Day 1 – I love this technique (I even did a tutorial on it last year here). For this card I used a Paper Smooches die – Quote tags (I just love the font on this die – it comes with a ‘Thanks’ also) and paired it up with the Memory Box Prim Poppy die to create a completely flat card. I love how it all fits back together like a jigsaw puzzle.

Colour Challenge @ AnnaBelles

Hello.  A new month means a new monthly challenge AnnaBelle Stamps. Where is this year going? We’re already into Autumn for those of us in the southern hemisphere. Yikes!

ac177

These are not colours I usually gravitate too, but that is why they call it a challenge right? I certainly stepped out of my comfort zone here…and this card includes a few ‘firsts’ for me. Water colouring out of the lines – it was really hard for this perfectionist to do! And secondly, I splattered ink. I have admired others do this for months and finally gave it a go. I just made a puddle of Mustard Seed distress marker and water, loaded up my paint brush, flicked and held my breath – and I love how it turned out!

My inspiration has come from this card by Aga. She often uses a dymo for her sentiments as well, which I don’t own, so I used a sentiment that was similar. I popped it up for some added dimension (but in all reality it was to cover up the first attempt of the sentiment which I botched up 🙂 )

AnnaBelle Stamps Friday Feature Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to AnnaBelle Stamps Friday Feature Blog Hop. You should have arrived from Kylie’s blog.

Today, the Belles are showcasing the Squared Posies Stamp set – an older set, but a good one. I have made a Mother’s Day card, creating a soft palette by  water colouring with Distress Markers onto watercolour paper. To finish the card, I scored some lines around the outside with a scoreboard. I think my Mum will love it – she loves blue.

Say it with…ABSC053

It is the last Friday of the month, so that means a sketch challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps.

I’ll be honest here…I struggled with this one. It was the half circle that threw me, so I took some liberties with the sketch which I turned. Hope that I wasn’t bending the rules too much!

The main panel is distress ink blending (like I showed in my video tutorial this week), but for some variation, I sprayed it lightly with a mister to create a splotchy water effect (I think it looks like a night sky full of stars!). I stamped the birds and cages from Love Birds and the sentiment is Garden silhouettes. The yellow is washi tape! This week’s winner will receive the awesome Fanciful Flowers stamp set – one of my favourites!

I have created this card for the Movement Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Supplies

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps Love Birds stamp set, AnnaBelle Stamps Garden silhouettes stamp set

Ink: Versafine – Onyx Black, Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans

Card: AnnaBelle Stamps Smooth White cardstock

Other Supplies: Ranger ink blending tool, Washi tape, Foam dimensionals, Mister with water,

Hope you will find the time to play along. Be sure to check out the rest of the Belles projects – their links are on my sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion

With Love

Hi there,

Popping in really quickly to post my entry to the current Scrapbook Boutique Blog Challenge that ends tonight. The inspiration photo was this YUMMY cupcake with the colour challenge being white, lavender and purple.

This card is in a similar style to other cards I have made recently…but once I get on a roll I certainly milk it for all it’s worth!!

I stamped the flower in Versafine black ink and then clear embossed over the top. I then swiped my inks onto an acrylic block, spritzed with water and then painted the flowers with a paintbrush. The embossed flowers meant that it was easy to stay in the lines! (And I have just realised that it looks like the background paper say LOL, but really it says love! He he!) I scored the lines on the panel behind on my score board.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Tall flower woodblock stamp (K5431)
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz distress inks – Dusty Corduroy, Peeled Paint, Versacolor – Hyacinth, Heliotrope
Card: Regal Craft Card (Square textured single fold card), X-Press-It blending card
Other Supplies: Kaisercraft ‘With Love’ rub on, Martha Stewart Score board, American Crafts clear embossing powder, heat gun, Kaisercraft pearls – snow, paintbrush, Spellbinders Labels 2 die, Cuttlebug, foam dimensionals, white ribbon, Tim Holtz blending tool, Finger sponge dauber, Copic markers – purple x 2

Thanks for stopping by,

Marion
