Say it in…Lime, Black and White

It is Friday so that means it is time for another challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps. This week’s challenge made me put my thinking cap on and have a good old think!

I have had in mind to do a button tree for a little while now – and I thought this was the perfect challenge to give it a try. I am pretty happy with the results and I think it would make a great male card! (How is it when I want to make a masculine card I can’t and when I don’t really try, I can?)

Supplies:

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps “Tree-MEN-dous” stamp set
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black, Versacolor – Bamboo
Card: Regal Craft Card – White textured
Other Supplies: Spotty patterned paper – Brand unknown, AnnaBelle Stamps natural jute twine, Buttons galore (mostly Basic Grey, but others just from my stash), Glossy Accents (to adhere the buttons)

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out what the rest of the DT have created, including our Guest Designer Sue McRae. Their links are on my side bar. Hope you can play along with us!

Print Candee Tutorial

Hi everyone,

Today I am sharing with you a tutorial on how to make this cute little gift box – all the papers are digital papers from Print Candee. If you haven’t checked out the store yet, you should do so as they have hundreds of digital images and papers to choose from.

Firstly, here is the finished box. I am entering this into the current Wee Memories Challenge #75 – to make Home-made gifts, tags and boxes.

My inspiration for the top of the box came from this beautiful heart that I came across on Pinterest which lead me to the original post here. The template for the box came from here – but I modified the dimensions for the top of the box to make a more snuggy fit.

Let’s begin.

1. To make the box, I printed off the pink star digital paper from the Owlicious (Happy Colors) Paper Pack onto some pink bazzill cardstock and cut it into a 9 and 1/8 inch square. The lid of the box was white card stock cut to a 5 and 5/8 inch square (this is slightly different from the template –  this is the bit I modified).

2. I then scored lines onto the box base at 2 and 1/2 inches on all 4 sides. To form tabs on the box to be glued, I cut along one of the score lines in each corner. Refer to the cross on the template.

3. Using adhesive I glued to tabs to form a box.

4. I did exactly the same as the above to form the box lid but I scored at 5/8 of an inch on all 4 sides before cutting along a score line in each corner to form a tab.

5. And what you should end up with is a box that has a lid that fits nice and snug.

6. I then printed off 3 more patterned papers from the same Owlicious (Happy Colors) Paper Pack onto white card stock, but made sure that I printed the pattern on both sides. Make sure the ink on the card stock has dried before printing on the other side.

7. Using my Craft heart punches, I cut various hearts from the 3 double sided patterned papers that I had printed off.

8. Using a scoring bone, I folded each heart in half (yes, the small hearts were fiddly!)

9. Using a piece of scrap paper (which was cut to the size of the lid of the box), I drew a heart shape and cut it out. (I folded the paper in half to make sure that the heart shape was symmetrical).

10. This template became my guide for placing the folded heart punched out shapes onto the box lid. I temporarily adhered it and removed it when I was done. I glued down the flowers as I went.

11. And kept going till I was happy with the results. I added some pearls as a finishing touch.

And there you have it.

Supplies:

Digital Images/Stamps: Owlicious (Happy Colors) Paper Pack
Ink: Canon colour printer
Card: White card stock, Pink Bazzill
Other Supplies: Kaisercraft pearls – snow, Karl Craft punch – Hearts – 3 sizes, Martha Stewart score board

Thanks for sticking with me. Be sure to head on over to the Print Candee store and have a browse around. The amount of projects that can be created from these products are endless!

Say it in…Sentiments

Welcome to another challenge at AnnaBelle Stamps. This week’s challenge is one that made my heart skip a beat – Say it with Sentiments.

I didn’t use as many sentiments as I had planned to, but I did use one sentiment many times…hope this still counts! Either way, I had fun making this card and I hope that it inspires you to play along with us!

I am entering this into the current Wee Memories Challenge #74 – to use buttons, brads or bows.

Stamps: AnnaBelle Stamps “Squared Posies” stamp set, AnnaBelle Stamps “Backgrounds By Design 6” stamp set

A sketch challenge

*If you are looking for the Print Candee Blog Hop, please scroll down*

This week at AnnaBelle Stamps we have a sketch challenge for you to play along with! I love this sketch – in fact I just love square cards!

I coloured in my favourite flower from the “Squared Posies” set with Copic markers and went in with a white pencil afterwards to add some highlights. I saw Darlene do this in her video here and I really liked the outcome.  I used “Backgrounds by Design 6” to add some interest on the outside panel. Both of the panels are raised with foam dimensionals.

I am entering this into the current Wee Memories Challenge #73 – which is a free for all challenge. I just HAD to enter because AnnaBelles is the sponsor this week! Why not you give it a whirl as well as the prize is a $20 gift voucher to the store! Who wouldn’t want to win that?

Thanks for dropping by…hope that you can join in and play along – the winner will receive a $15 Gift voucher to the store. Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT have created including our Guest Designer Karin. All the DT Girls links are on my sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look,

Print Candee Blog Hop

Welcome to another Print Candee Blog Hop. You should have come from super talented Jocelyn’s blog. If you want to start the hop from the beginning, head on over to the Print Candee Blog and sit back and get ready to be inspired! There are some great hidden prizes to be won just by leaving comments along the way…you never know you could be a lucky winner! There is also a prize for one lucky person by leaving a comment on the Print Candee Blog. The prizes this month are two $10 gift certificates to Print Candee and a $15 gift certificate to Two Peas in a Bucket. You have until 11:59pm EST on Saturday, October the 29th to comment for prizes.

Today the Creative Team are creating projects with either a Fall or Spring theme (Fall for the Northern Hemisphere, Spring for the Southern Hemisphere). As it is Spring here in Australia, that is what my projects are based on.

When I think of spring I think of flowers and butterflies – and so that is what I have included on this birthday card.

I have used loads of Print Candee goodies on this one. I created the sky background using the Cloud SVG Set, the trees are from the Whimscal Owls and Birds Clipart set, the butterflies are from the Colorful Patterned Butterflies Clipart set and the hills and flowers on the tree were created using digital papers from the Owlicious (Happy Colors) Paper Pack.

And because I love spring so much, I decided to make another project, this time a cute little bird house.

I recently discovered this bird house template from Nichole Heady – however I modified it. I enlarged the template by 160% before printing it off onto a digital paper from the Owlicious (Happy Colors) Paper Pack. I came up with my own version of the roof and added the scalloped edges with my Fiskars scallop punch. The digital paper for the roof is from the Chocolate and Pink Paper Pack. The bird is from the Cute Birds Clipart set. To add some dimension to the bird I propped up his wing with some foam dimensionals and added a black eye.

The next stop on the Blog Hop is Kalyn’s Blog. I can’t wait to see what awesome-ness she has created. And don’t forget that Print Candee is always offering specials. Head to the store and check out this week’s special and the hundreds upon hundreds of digital products they have to offer!

Thanks for stopping by,
