Christmas Baubles

Hey crafty peoples,

It has been too long since posts, but I have been having MAJOR issues with trying to get some decent photos, it has been so frustrating!! Anyway, this is the best I could come up with…I really need to purchase some more photography gear!

Once again I have been inking up my Hero Arts Decorative Ornaments stamp and I am loving it!! These cards are pretty simple and there is a reason for this as these are going to be my Christmas cards this year and mass production needs to be done quickly and efficiently!

I inked up the stamp with several different inks (similar tones) and then gave the stamp a good spritz with perfect pearls in water  before stamping. Once stamped, I hit it with the heat gun to dry it quickly. I love how it has given the image a watery look. In real life the perfect pearls are really shimmery, but hard to capture this in the photos. The background stamp is an Impress stamp that I inked up with 3 different shades of green, spritzed with perfect pearls in water and then dabbed with a tissue before stamping to get a blotchy effect. I added a sentiment, some ribbon and pearls and voila!

This photo captures some of the perfect pearls a bit, but it looks better in real life.

And I experimented with different colours, but I think the pink colours are my favourite. I also did a blue one.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Decorative Ornament, Impress Stamp – square, Kaisercraft Christmas sentiment
Ink: Versacolor Ink – Onyx Black, Cardinal, Petal Pink, Opera Pink, Peony, Heliotrope, hyacinth, Green Tea, bamboo, Olive, Orange, Yellow
Card:
Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), white card
Other Supplies:
Thin white ribbon, thin white and gold ribbon, Kaisercraft pearls, foam dimensionals, perfect pearls, mini mister, heat gun, glossy accents (to adhere ribbon)

Thanks again for visiting and have a great night!

Top 3

Hi all,

I am very excited today! My card placed top 3 at CASE Study Challenge #13! YAY!!

Also last week another one of my cards placed 2nd at the Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog site! Pretty cool huh? My first two achievements since entering blogland 4 months ago….and boy have I had a lot of fun!

And just on another note….I have decided to tweak my blog name ever so slightly and call it Made Marion instead of Made by Marion….just for a little bit of fun and a play on words!

So no cards to share tonight, but I do have a really simple Christmas card to share with you really soon….as soon as I find time to photograph it!

Take care,

Marion

CASE Study #13

This card has taken a few days to complete, but with a bit of thinking and tweaking, this is what I have finally come up with today. It is my entry to CASE Study #13 where the inspiration this week is a card by Heather Pulvirenti.

I used her layout and as she had 3 flowers I used 3 elements as well – baubles from the Hero Arts decorative ornament stamp. So now I can say my Christmas card count is now 2!! Better than none I say!

A close up of the ornaments which I embossed in a red pearlised embossing  powder so in real life they have a bit more of a pearlised shimmery look to them. I raised the babbles using 2 different thickness of foam to create dimension.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Decorative Ornament
Ink:
VersaMark Watermark Ink, Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card:
Regal Craft Card (white horizontal single fold), white card
Other Supplies:
Embossing powder – enhanced Red pearl, Kaisercraft patterned paper from the Belle Collection – Natalie, Kaisercraft Christmas Stamp (sentiment), white ribbon – thin and medium width, Kaisercraft pearls, felt pen, foam dimensionals, herma dotto adhesive.

Thanks for all your comments recently…it has made my day!

Butterflies

Hello there fellow paper lovers!

Well I think I am on a roll using the Hero Arts butterfly stamp from the Antique Engravings set. I love this little guy as it is so realistic looking and I love blending colours with my prismacolors and gamsol.

I have used the sketch from the current FTL #114 (and isn’t it a beauty!).

I am also entering the blue butterfly card into a new challenge over at JayGee’s Nook where the inspiration photo is this. I got my inspiration from the  gorgeous blue/turquoise colours!!

And here is it….

And just to be different from the blue butterfly card, I am entering the pink version into the Scrapbook Boutique Butterfly challenge where at least 2 butterflies need to be used in a design.

Supplies:

Stamps: Hero Arts Antique Engravings
Ink: Versafine Ink – Onyx Black
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold)
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Kaisercraft pearls, Wendy Irving ‘Hello’ and ‘Sending you a smile’ rub ons.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Hi,

Just sharing another little baby card that I made a couple of weeks ago using the sitting giraffe digistamp from Squigglefly. Once again I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The sentiment was computer generated.

You can see the glossy accents a bit better in this photo on the bow.

Ink: Printer
Card: Regal Craft Card (white square single fold), White cardstock, purple Bazzill, purple embossed card (not sure which brand)
Other Supplies: Prismacolor pencils, gamsol, stubbs, Glossy accents (on bow), White Kaisercraft flowers, S.E.I. buttons, thin white ribbon, herma dotto, foam dimensionals, Kaisercraft pearls, Computer font “CAC Pinafore”.

Hope you are having a great day! Very wet here!

Until next time,

Marion
